help with Possible Mg deficiencies

Good morning all. Got a few pictures and a general question if this seems to be a Mg deficiency? I use tap water and house and garden COCO A & B and Mad Farmer Nuts, Silica, and B1. I believe she telling me she needs more Mg due to purplish stem, branches, and the main stem of lower leafs. Any advance would be helpful. Overall plant health looks great getting explosive growth just the lower has stayed purple.

hello,

it's just pigmentation, it is no problem,

check out blueberry's stems etc, they should exhibit purple streaking etc also.

it can come out more with cold temps though (don't be letting them get tooo cold), but is not a deficiency etc, just the plant showing colour.

i wouldn't feed them anymore then you are doing, they are looking full and healthy.

no problems to see!

I checked into the temp issue brought nights up from high 60s F into mid 70's brought day from 78 to 80. My guys at the shop said it needed a N booster I guess House and Garden COCO needed it. They are still blowing up. But I have never seen it indoors so early on in veg as coloring. Maybe it was all temp. I haven't changed the feed yet or even fed for that matter in a week or so. I'll give it a week working off the slight temp change and hopefully she'll be back to the green hulk rather the going barnie so early.

Looks like a mag hog to me not N. MG is the center molecule of chlorophyll, you got some fast growth going on.

A foliar with 1 tsp epsom per gallon would do ya good.
Or even better coconut water at 1/4 cup per gallon.

Plants look good but yeah your eye caught her bein a hog. Better to load up now, they'll really burn through it when they stretch in flower.

Using either the Epsom salt or the coconut water should I balance the water to any specific pH before applying? And coconut water just off the shelf from the grocery store? Will it have any adverse effects causing moisture for PM to start, I'd apply it right at sunrise or shortly thereafter. Is a foiler spray more effective than adding mag into the nutrient regiment?

For all the serious guys out there that pay attention to all the nitty gritty what's your best preventive IPM measures other than prevention/ exclusion thats obviously numero uno, as far as applications or specific nutrients in forms of regiment or foiler continuous healthy garden... pm and mites.

I've only ran across mites one time late in bloom and I just cut early and tried to salvage. Pm I've never really had to deal with allthough moving indoors I know it can be a common occurrence if you don't stay on top of multiple factors. Just looking for some great $0.02 on prevention

Thanks for stopping by guys

Foliar is more fast acting, you can ph if you want but its not gonna hurt em either way most likely.

I use vita coco off the shelf. Now non pasteurized brands or non heat treated may contain more cytokins but im not after them so much as the excellent mg, ca, and iron boost, the p and k is nice too, its rich in nutrients. I would spray when lights come one, undersides too if ya can. My plants love it in veg and especially the first few weeks of flower when demands get high.

For me I do shit a little different, when makin flowers I go from clone to 65 gallon smarties, veg a month under 1000w and flip.
I keep all my clones bonzaied in solo cups and the like and I heat treat my clone veg space a few times before moving to final 30 day veg and flowering. Thats my mite control/prevention. Other than that some spinosad once in awhile as needed and mosquito dunks and thats it for me dude.

I've read about heat treating. Bring the room above 100 and keep it there for an hour. Does it cause the plants to go into heat shock or does it stunt any possible growth does it morph?

120 for an hour is what I do.

I cant really tell, everything has been pretty hardy for me, maybe some minor leaf damage in some cases of more sensitive plants. Just make sure ya give em a good water before if ya try it. Good for smaller plants because then they grow out of any of that you mention, if it were to occur, mine always just take right off.

Most stress I seen is some slight reveg type stress for a node or two after treatment.

1st stage Mag deficit.

1st stage Mag deficit.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but the middle leaf is an example of a stage 1 mag def. Dark/Dark green veins with light green / going to yellow between.

Also don't know if this helps but I use House and Garden Aqua Flakes in my DWC BB and I have to supplement with Cal/Mag
[I am using Botanicare] for best results.

Apologies for the poor photo quality.

So I ended up trying the vita coco and water mix as a foliar spray today for the first time. Took a comparison shot of one weeks growth. Thank you for the advice. Let's see if they like it and helps out.

Hey guys n gals,

So i have changed up the chemistry in the garden. The other day while inspecting the girls I noticed they have started consuming more water per week. I had been hand feeding them at the start of each week (Sunday night). They were getting about a half gallon each and that was it. By Thursday they would be noticeably drier, and would breath till Sunday. This week by Wednesday they were close to bone dry showing no sign of "praying" (orientating themselves). They wanted water lol. I took the chance between weekly feeds to do a flush. I was curious of testing my run off so thats what i did. i started with distilled water sightly above standard Ph. right at 7. My first reaction to what my meter reading was telling me was how are these thing not dead. My meter EC was maxed at >2000 ppm and was showing a Ph of around 4.7 I'm still curious of how they look so good and are exploding with growth with such a high amount of unbalanced nutrients in the medium. I have stopped using the coco water/water foliar due to lil buds starting to form.
I want to keep doing a weekly flush in between feeds. I have discontinued the use of my tap water and picked up a 5 gal jug of distilled water just so i can control the water chemistry a little easier. like always any advice or $0.02 would be appreciated.
