HELP WITH HEAT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

I posted a question about splicing into my central ac and dumping it into my grow room but i cant do that just yet so I put in a 5000 btu window unit and a box on the back sucking the hot air off it but my growroom was stil 95 at the canopy. It stayed on for 3 2 days straight. How do you guys make the window ac thing work?
My growroom is in my garage, i put up 2 walls into a corner to form a box. Im using a 600w cooltube with a 250cfm fan blowing through it. Its pretty hot in the garage because i blocked the big door with plastic.
What am I doing wrong? Please help for the love of ganja before I lose my crops!!!!!

how big is the space you are trying to cool...5000btu is a small ac.

Hello all,

Perhaps putting a vent in your garage ceiling and a turbine vent on the roof to draw hot air out of your garage.

Just a thought.

Where are you venting the hot air from the light too?you have to vent the hot air from the ac unit and the light out of the garage,and get the ac cooled air into the room.Do you have a window in the garage?Put the ac unit in the window and vent the light outside of the garage.That way all the cool air stays in the garage.If you can post a pix of the garage I can help you better.PEACE

Theirs no window in the garage, thats why i built a box around the back of the ac(being careful not to block the vents on the side of it) with a inline fan and tubing blowing the air into the attic. The garage still got hot as hell though.
If im to understand you, willbehigh, I should try and keep the whole garage as cool as possible? Not an easy task here in the "sunhine state". Im freakin' desparate. I have some hashberry a week from seed (got them for their heat resistance )but my 'widow and blueberry, especially the 'berry, are slowing in growth.

sell your window unit and get a portable a/c unit. They stand on their own and the hot air is exhausted through tubes on most models. Put the a/c indise ur grow (can experiment w/ putting it higher, closer to light or even above it to frees some floor/light space. Only major prob w/ this method is there is no negative pressure.(I think) You would have to put up some airfreshners around your box and/or garage. Or just invest in an optimum 4000.

The portable unit should move the hot air better than a window unit w/ inline fan. You also have the option of drilling a hole through ur wall outside (or in another room w/ a window?) and exhausting like that. Or put the box where the washer/dryer is and vent out there, just go to the laundramat
