Help with Fox Farms Ocean Forest..........

Greetings,

I am two weeks til harvest and new ones going in to flower room.

I want to keep things simple as possible. I grow in 5 gallon pots, 4 weeks veg, then flower. Unfortunately my room is a master bedroom with carpet, so I laid down thick roofing rubber to protect the carpet and floors. Under each pot is a circular drain train that is just big enough for the size pots I use......Therefore I can't have much run off, I don't have drain tables.

My question, should I use the Ocean Forest straight out of the bag? Or should I amend it with additional perlite, earth worm castings and dolomite lime?

The soil ph is probably right were it needs to be out of the bag.
I'll check it when the time comes to plant.
Any advice, suggestions, input will be appreciated! Thanks Folks!

>>>"LC's Soiless Mix #2:

6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up) / Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Light Warrior
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered (NOT PELLETED) dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime. The dolomite lime is for Ca. and Mg. not just to adjust the PH of the soil.

But, a "part" can be anything from a tablespoon to a five gallon bucket. Just use the same item for all of the "parts"."

*Thanks BurnOne and LC.........Good reading and........Next crop I'm gonna do_______ and next crop I'm gonna ________

The 2 LC mixes listed in the link..........Will they work well in my setup? My setup being without drain tables / little to no run off.

I'll be watering every 3 days and only enough to saturate the medium.
-Thanks for any input.

I use FFOF straight. I get what I think are good to excellent results. I only use Advanced A&B grow and bloom. nothing else. Go simple and use it straight. It will work fine with your "little runoff" settup. I would not be set on that every 3 days deal. Pot size, plant size and temps will play a big part in how long between waterings. let the pot and palnt tell you when it needs water.
Check out my MKU diary for some examples.

I take 1 bag of OF/HF/LW mix them all together. I now have a fatastic soil to use. This is what I have been using since I stopped making my own mix. I dont have the space to make my own mix anymore. This works very well I also only use Organic nutrienst with it. Im very happy with the end product.

Yes, they will work just fine in your setup (if you read the thread take their advice and stick with the recipe).
Stay Safe!
