HELP: Securing power strips?

I have plants going right now in the box so I need help! Thanks!

I'm having some trouble with my micro grow. I need to figure out a way to mount powerstrips horizontally inside of a rubbermaid tub that's been put on its side.

I tried duct taping over the power strip and attaching it to the tub that way, but the duct tape didn't hold for more than a day or two. I used electrical tape wrapped around the light (which are plugged into the powerstrip) ballasts and using that as a suspension to hold it up temporarily.

That's failing, so I need help.

Maybe duct tape the crap out of it and then go to town with a staple gun?

Or should I go some other route? Hang the power strips down through a hole in the top of the tub? (that might actually be a good idea...)

HELP please!

Ok, for now the power strips are mounted vertically, which works well for now but that won't work long term...

Any ideas?

^^^Right on...I've done this several times.
Very carefully measure the slots on the back of the power strip. Lay out the pattern & drill holes for screws....flat heads work best. If they go all the way through the material you can then mount the power strip & then grab the tips of the screws with locking pliers & tighten the screws to make the strip real solid.

screws.. the back of the power strip has two slots that will hold it nice and firm

I would have done that if I had to mount them to a wall, but the thing is that I actually have to screw it into the rubbermaid tub, which wouldn't be good.

No hot glue gun.
Superglue?

^why wouldnt it be good? Ive screwed power strips into my rubbermaid, theyve been holding strong for months. Tape is cutting it short and wont do the trick, plus it seems a bit ghetto. Not ragging on ya cause I tride that first too, screwed the strips in now and never lookin back.

not that it sound like a great idea, but drill/poke some holes and use zipties/cable ties.

or use silicone adhesive to glue it in place.

What about the pointy ends of the screws?

go to h depot and get some industrial strength velcro. slap that on and it will hold. just make sure both surfaces are very clean before sticking on the velcro.

wire bundling ties. The plastic things that kind of ratchet closed.
Just cut a slit above and below your strip on each end, pass the thin end (not the boxed end) through the slits, and attach. I think the 4" or 6" ties work well. A 50 pack is $2 or something
