Hey guys,
I recently got my setup going again and now that the weather is heating up i have some questions regarding cooling my room. Im not sure if i made the right call but i went out and purchased an Ideal air dual hose portable AC 12000 BTU.
heres a link to it http://http://eastwesthydro.com/air-conditioning-heating/ideal-air-dual-hose-portable-air-conditioner-12000-btu-700820?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=product-feed&gclid=Cj0KEQjw9tW5BRDk29KDnqWu4fMBEiQAKj7sp6w9lEIDG14L0eBqoy1Xq9P28dafyVxONVtPdEUxIxUaAlc_8P8HAQ
My question is regarding the dual hose. Maybe i just misunderstood the purpose of the dual hose but i had assumed that i would be able to hook my exhaust hose into the air inlet and then run another duct from the outlet to the window and outside. Im hesitant on doing this because when i try to look up others who have set it up like this there is nothing coming up...is this because it would not work?
Let me start by describing my setup the best i can... i have a 5x5 growlab tent and inside i have a carbon filter up top->Fan->first 6 inch air cooled hood->another fan->2nd air cooled hood>ducting to outside the tent. i run 2 600 watt HPS in there and as long as i duct into an attic my temps were about 80 degrees at the highest.
Up until recently i just ducted the heat from this set up into the attic and had almost perfect temps in my room. Unfortunately i am now in a place where i can't exhaust my heat into and attic so I'm trying this different approach..
I dont want to mess up this AC since it was pretty pricey but i just want to make sure my idea will work before i give it a go. worst case scenario i could just set up the ac in the room and duct both lines to and from the window and hope that the ac will cool the air down enough in the room outside the tent and which will ultimately cool the air inside the tent down to reasonable temps.
Anyways hope this isn't too confusing and someone with experience with this may be able to help! Ive been growing for a few years but I've always had an attic to exhaust that extra heat up into. Thanks for reading!
