I im picking up an ac unit 24-28 000 BTU's and putting it in my living room the only problem is all the wall plug in's are 120 v plugs and the powering on the ac is 208/230 v 13-15 amps power how am I going to connect this in my house!!!!!!!! please help
you will have to get it re wired, the outlet that is , All the way to the main box.you cant just plug that in . The plug whont even fit. have you seen the unit? good luck too you.
White bubba is correct. You have to go off of 2 legs of 110. This is not something that you want to do if you are not trained. Are you 100 percent sure it is 220? If you are buying a new one it would be much cheaper to get a 110.....
they are on sale now for cheap. the 110 type, before summer hits. it sounds like a wall unit? not window? It sounds huge 20,000 btu is large. If its pretty new and in great shape maybe get all your wiring done now. Get youre 220 v in there and 110 v done at the same time by a pro. you will be sooo happy later when youre room is all wired up by a pro or some oldtimer. No extension cords all over the place, nice and neat. If not ive had very good luck with refurbished a/c and dehumidifier . from a good source. online of course.btw dont rewire the a/c , rewire the room if you whant.
