hello everyone,
I've been using fluorescents for yrs but recently I've been looking into using compact fluorescents but since a room has only one socket, I was wondering if someone who has the knowledge to help me build a multiple socket board which I can plug directly into a wall outlet.
I am aiming for around 8-10 sockets on my board.
can someone help?
thx

The second drawing in freezerboy's post is how the wiring should be, except that I think you want to put a cord end (plug) where the switch is.

The sockets you can buy at Home dePot or Lowe's, along with 12g wire. Is there anything else you don't understand?

The sockets themselves should have a connection for the ground wire. You would simply connect all the ground connections from the sockets to the ground wire on the plug.

Most simple ceramic or plastic light sockets/fixtures don't have a ground lug, so you don't ground them. If you are mounting the fixtures on a wood surface, you really don't need a ground. If you will attach them to a metal frame, you attach your ground wire to the frame or to the metal box you would use to mount the socket.

Just buy a vanity light fixture . They're already wired. You can buy Vanity light fixtures with up to 6-8 bulbs per fixture.

I have a couple that have 4 sockets each. They're about 24" long.
