Howdy peoples:gday:,
I have bought some gear & going to attempt my first grow.I'm yet to build a grow room. I will be using a 600watt to start off with, 150mm cooltube, sunpulse bulbs, next gen 400/600 watt ballast. What would be some suitable grow room dimensions? Should the room be square or rectangle in length? does it matter?. Many thanks :)

A 600w light will have a 3'x3' footprint for growing under. If I were you I would build a 3.5x3.5 ft cab and line the walls with poly. Do you have a fan for your cooltube?

Yeh looking at the mylar film. I have bought two WESTAFLEX 150MM CENTRIFUGAL INLINE FAN 62W 130L/SEC. Is that o.k? Could I run both cooltubes into a junction and use one fan? Bit devistated about the 3ft dimensions, only a meter by a meter haha... Thanks for the swift reply's guys

If you are exhausting through your cooltubes, use a filter to keep them clean. You can run them in a line, rather than having a Y, and that would keep the filter cost down to one.

Lamps throw light to the sides. They throw little forward or aft. Actually, they throw a shadow forward. As a result, the footprint is not square. I'd go 3x4 with the lamp perpendicular to the length of the grow. This will allow you for more complete coverage while hanging the lamp lower which increases penetration.
