Help - Needed, right here ! Please.

Hey, Greetings everyone.

Wonder if anyone can help me here.\

Right, So I am currently growing some bagseed at the moment. Plant is around 3 months of age ( yeah I know, this plant is growing sloooooow ). Plant is having a major claw on the upper leaves,a nd the bottom leaves are slowly starting to yellow with burnt edges. My first thought is Nitrogen Toxicity, another could be over watering ?

Some background.

growing in a Micro grow space. Dimensions for this compartment are currently 50 cm D X 50 cm W X 60 CM H. I have 2 fans going, 1 Outlet sucking in and blowing out. CFM for that is around 80 cfm.
then I have a fan in the center of the grow box blowing partially on the lights and canopy.

Temps range between 20 degrees Celsius ( at night ) upto 29 degrees Celsius daytime.

Humidity is shit. I cant keep it above 20 %.

Soil: I am using organics. Feed with rain water / AACT teas. soil consists of the below :

Decent store bought compost
EWC's
Perlite ( although its small pieces and not the medium to large I see on pics here at IC)
Bone meal
Dolomite lime
Kelp powder ( was an ass, and got it at the supermarker ) ( Will be getting Kelp MEAL soon )

and thats that.

Dont check PH or ECS or any of that, as I was under the impression with organics you dont need to worry with that ?

This started getting this bad, when I watered with plain fresh rain water. never over did it though. Plant was transplanted into a 12 Liter plastic pot about 2-3 weeks ago.

What am I doing wrong ? I feel so useless. Have seedlings ( 4 weeks of age ) where the first 3 weeks they grew crazy. 5 nodes. I had a sandwich bag over the solo cups to keep humidity high, which helped alot. Took the bags off and they have stayed the same size in 2 weeks. LOL/

Oh lights! Running 4 X 20 Watts 6500K CFL's on the bigger plant, and a mere 40 watts on the smaller ones.

Going to attach pics of the "big" girl, as I would like to flip soon!

Guys, thanks for looking and hope to hear from you soon.

hey man. im no expert (on my second grow now) or have never made my own compost but it looks like some type of nute burn... maybe because of the rain water... if you didnt test the ph it might of been to acidy/base? where i live there is so much pollution i cant use rainwater...maybe flush it with tap water or if you can get your hands on distilled water...

you should really try and get a ph meter they are cheap and will save you alot of headaches... you will be able to determine whether the water you are feeding is even letting you babies get the nutrients they need.... some say with organic you dont need it.. but you would be better with it IMO... its better to know all amounts of data of your grow.

you should def mist your plants as much as possible because 20% RH is too low for veg!! if you cant afford a tiny little mister just get a spray bottle and spray them and everything around them as much as you possibly can.

if you do have any extra cash and want better results try getting a brighter light or more cfls... low watts are good for seedlings and early veg... but once they start to pick up they wont get that growth you can visually see with that low wattage. get a nice light and they will grow alot faster and healthier.

keep updating man!

Couple things I see and I'm pretty newish compared to some of the ole heads that could be helping so take it with a grain of salt and research yourself but...
1. Too much perlite can be acidic (I think it has a 4.6 ph)
2. Too much lime could make it too alkaline (it's a STRONG ph buffer at 7.0 so your supposed to use sparingly.
So check your mix with some great already existing ones on this site so you can see how close you are with your ingredients.
Also....
1. Humidity can affect nutrient uptake
2. Your not supposed to check nute PH as your soil and microherds are supposed to buffer the PH...if your soil/microherd is off then it's a whole different ball game
3. If there isn't enough micro life the Nitrogen your putting in is easily up taken by the roots as ammonium nitrate and other common forms of nitrogen are water soluble and available almost instantly to your plant, the P and K need to be broken down by your micro herd and take time to be absorbed, if your not aware of this it can become easy to burn your plants.
4. Also, because the light intensity is lesser than an hps you could be overfeeding in general as lesser light intensity means less food uptake. Not knowing this could lead a beginner to oversaturate their soil with nutes that aren't being used until the signs of toxicity or lockout become evident.

Long story short, if ypur soil mix checks out with common application rates, flush the excess nitrogen with plain RO water Ph'd to 6.2 and continue plain water feed (Ph'd to 6.0) for about a week until signs of improvement start with new growth (old growth won't recover). Hope this helps. Happy growing
