Help, need answer quickly on this

I have 8 papaya and 1 C-99 scrogging under 400W HPS, they are day 68 of 12 - 12 . Trichs re 70% cloudy 30% amber. My question is a couple of the plants have air buds, not tight at all, they are nice large buds but not tight like I want them. Will it do any good to let them go one more week or will they just stay airy and never tighten up more? I don't want to let them go to long if it wont make them tighten up. The other girls are much tighter, I don't know why these didn't, I always rotated them all in different places under the light so they should have gotten just as much light as the others.

Thanks
Nick

Actual growth is probably very minimal at this point Letting them go another week will just give you more amber trics :) go for it lol.

Thanks for the replies, I decided to chop them, and give the other girls a little more time while these airy SOB's dry, I think you guys are right Ive been watching this plant for about 2 weeks and it doesn't seem to be tightening up at all, must just be its genetics, I don't want to use any clones I cut from it, good thing I numbered the moms and their clones.

I guess air bud is better than no bud.

did you already cut the papayas? I had a few phenos that took 85-90 days to fully mature.

There is nothing wrong with letting your fruit ripen a few more days. Try spreading the branches apart a little if your able. Get more light to them budd's/leafs.

how close where the air buds to the light

sometimes the buds dont form as tight as they should if they get to close to the light.

I always recomend 16-18 inches at all times above the top when you go 400 HPS or up.

As said if you did not chop than don't! Take colas and ripe buds. Leave the rest to finnish ripening you can give them some carb(beer, molas) you know organic stuff

Just my :2cents:

Thanks guys!!! I chopped the C-99 and one papaya, I will be better able to rotate and move the other 6 girls around the light as long as needed. It's hard to wait but if they will tighten it will be well worth it.

Thanks again

CB420, I have the light about 10" above them, I almost think its too close but they aren't burning so guess its OK.
