Help!! Mold on top of my rockwool cubes

Hey guys,
I was topping off my rez tonight and noticed that I had a patch of white fluffy mold growing on top of one of my cubes. I don't have a camera but I found a picture of what looks like the later stages of what I have. Upon closer inspection I found that that I had this on the tops of other cubes too. I do not have my cubes covered and their is a fair amount of algae on some of them. My water is at 1050 ppm, 5.7 ph, using advanced nutrients with a flora shield. I poured water on the mold patch to see if it went away and it seemed as though part of it did but the other part just got whiter looking. My setup is a 4x8 flood and drain, 40 plants 6x6 cubes, under 2000 watts of light. Humidity is around 40%. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking about making a bleach water solution then wiping the infected areas down but would like to hear from you guys first.:thank you:

Hi Gstone,
that pretty much always happens.. It's actually pretty harmless, although not very nice..
Do you have any black/white?? If so, cut some and cover the top of those cubes.. Or you can buy covers for your cubes at local hydro shop..
Would not recommend using bleach solution, not needed.
Hope that helps..

Thank you guys so much. That makes my life so much less stressful. I was so worried about it spreading it to my plants and ruining my whole crop.

I had the algae problem on my clones...so H2o2 1 to 10 works for that?

I believe what paladin was referring to was that h202 works for mold. To eliminate algae you need to cover up the cubes and hide them from the light.

Go to store and buy covers for 6" blocks (pre cut black on one side white on the other), sold at every hydro shop.
