im having some leaf discoloration. maybe you can help me out. i water when they need it which is about every 4-6 days. my tds meter says the water is like 91 when it goes in. my tap water is like high 7's when it comes outta the tap. my runoff is between 6.2 and.6.5. the ph of my water going in is 6.4-6.5. my soild ph has bad hot spots like in one part it will be in the low 6's in other parts it will be 6.7ish. so my question is how do i fix this? with flushing?? what should the ph be?? my plants are 15 days old today they are one their 3rd-4th node. they have not been fed yet and i am using happy frog soil. does this look like a zinc def or ph fluctuations? i fed them epson salts when i transplanted. only a half a teaspoon. see i have a few NL5xBB that were transplanted 2 days ago. they were fed....but i have plants that have yet to be transplanted and no ES. they are showing the same signs just not as bad.

I'll be following this because I just noticed the same thing on my four week old Calizahrs. Mine more closely resembles your second fan down. Do your ulcers go through to the under side also? I can't find any bugs and it appeared on the middle fans of all three plants, the bottom and top fans are fine. Just thought I'd mention that in case you're experiencing the same thing. Calcium def. is the only thing I could find that looked close on Stitch's sticky so I just dosed mine with a watering of Cal/Mag+. I'm with you hoping someone recognizes the problem.

?? Could it be that your plants are cannibalizing(sp) themselves because of lack of nutrients? I go against popular technique and start to feed as soon as my plants develop their first set of serrated leaves. I use an uber-weak solution to start; My plants are putting out their forth set of leaves and are getting 1/4 strength nutes and all is fine (for now *puts hands together, raises head and thanks god*). Peace.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I'm a hydro guy and not a soil guru, so yeah.

The spread of the ulcerations seems to have stopped with the Cal/Mag+ treatment. Keeping my fingers crossed.
