The seed has been sitting in the paper towel like this for 24 hours. Its development has stopped, what could be the reason for this? I had previously kept it in water for 24 hours and it has been a total of 48 hours in the tissue.

If you used clean recipients and water should be ok. You can put that into soil already, too. If it is still alive it will sprout out of the soil in a day or 2.

Drowning them is my guess. They need O2. I prefer to plant seeds straight into a medium. But whatever works.
