Ey all!


just got that wonderful return from the IRS (FUCK THE IRS, still took 10% of my money...) and now am in the market for a new light setup.

What i am looking for is the best bang for buck *AFTER SHIPPING* on a HPS ballast, bulb, etc. EDIT: for under $200

it isn't for commercial, just a small soil based hobby, but i would rather have higherwattage than anything else.

any suggestions on where to look?

I refuse to use ebay and it's sister company paypal. Both of those companies gladly record and release any transactions you do to the police with no protection of it's clients. There are many other reasons that i don't like paypal but i don't have the time to go into it.

For 200 bucks you can get 2 x 400 HPS, just bulb and ballist kit, build a reflector and your good

any size i want. hasn't been built yet (i am a carpenter by trade), gunna make it based on the kind of equipement i am gunna use.

Right now i just want the best light i can get for under $200

That's cool, but do you have an idea of how many plants your gonna grow? Two 400's would be great, they sell bulbs for about 9 bucks, others swear by different bulbs. Probably will not find a 600 under 200. You can do a 2'x3' space with a 400, thats about 66 watts per sq/ft. Some will say 3x3, but i dont think the bulb, tip to base will have 3 feet of effective light. I have a C24 with the 400 pointing at me when I'm looking into the cab, because I think most light is off the sides, then the tip, then bsae area. OK, i'm stoned and rambling....GL

heh heh, yea it will definatly be smaller. i think i am gunna go w/ just a 400w for now. with the right setup it can yeild at least 4 zippers right? that is around .3g/w right?

a 400 watt HPS with a good grower that knows how to grow good weed given proper grow room temps RH% fresh etc etc will yeild 4-8 oz.

You can easily get a 400 watt hps, and maybe even with a switchable ballast, easily for $200 or less. Try froogle.com.
