Help me rescue my first hydro grow

This is my first grow. The nutrients I own are flora nova bloom/grow, liquid karma, pro-tekt, hydroguard, sensical mg mix, and superthrive. I am extremely new to this and most of the stuff that I own was either gifted to me or I bought on someone's recommendation. I've been meaning to try to figure out how the lucas formula works and how to put that together with what I've got, but school has a higher priority right now, especially with a week of catch up to do.

I was unavoidably called back home for a little more than a week. I came back to this. They've been on a 18/6 schedule up until now. I need to force flower. Height is not much of a concern, but I'd still rather not let it get gratuitous.

I knew there would be damage, and I guess at least the plants aren't dead. The tallest one was touching the cooltube.

That's not so bad though. Before I got the stanley blower the plants got burned worse than this and you can't even tell any more. The bad part is this.

There was only about 3 or 4 gallons left in the tub. According to my cheapy pen, ph was 6 and ppm was 300. The roots are all looking very white and healthy. Right now the tub is soaking and soon I'll refill it with ph balanced water and some hydroguard, and hope someone gives me some advice soon.

Does anyone recognize what's wrong with these plants? Can anyone suggest which of the many bottles I have I should use, and how much? The lower leaves are clearly dying from lack of light, and my closet isn't getting any wider, just taller. Can anyone give me pruning tips?

If more pictures or information are needed let me know!

These are bagseed, btw. This is my first grow and it is 100% experiment. I'm hoping at least one of them turns out to be a chick.

Also I'm moving the blower and the air pumps to the shelf with the ballast to give the plants and light more room. Hopefully there isn't too much vibration from taking them off the bungees.

Like I said I've been away a week so I can't really say if it's been stable or not. I plan to keep it between 5.2 and 6 though.

A few things I see. First, things look really cramped in there! You definitely vegged way too long but you know that. Switch to flower asap. Since space is an issue I would tie the plants down to keep them away from the lights. They wont be happy if they keep getting burned no matter what else you do. Check out the big LST thread in main growers forum.
Obviously you need to mix new water and nutes and you are working on that so I wont get into it. Keep the Floranova low (1tsp/gal) for a few days to let your plants recover then up it. 10ml/gal of Hydroguard is a good dosage. Lucas formula in flower is 8ml/gal, I think. Usually I see it with Floralicious Bloom at 6ml/gal too. Also, Superthrive isnt advised as a regular supplement. There was a recent poll on it and the result was like 15 no 0 yes. Stop using it.
Dont give up!

Thanks! There's no way I'm giving up. If they all die, I'll plant some more and try again. Bummer about the superthrive since I already put it in and it was expensive. What's it for then?

Ppm's about 800 now, almost 500 of that is the fn bloom. So I might be mixing a new res. real soon now because of burn. We'll see.

I don't really see how I can tie them down. I guess I could do the stem twisting thing though. Would that work? Would it help if I lop off some of the lower branches? Or top them?

I know it's pretty cramped. It'll be better when their sex starts to show since I'll probably have to kill a few dudes. It looks a little better without the blower in there. The roof can go up another six to eight feet still, and I can move the air pumps out as soon as I buy some longer hose.

Oops it was 12 no 0 yes. Its just not necessary in advanced veg like your plants are at.

Stem twisting and crushing (aka super cropping) would work. So would topping and FIM. Get enough string and you can tie your plants down to anything in your room. Either way, figure out how to keep your plants out of the lights even if raising the roof is the answer. If not, you will practically kill your top colas and stress the plants thus reducing the rest of your yield. Use some stoner ingenuity :)

Glad to hear you arent discouraged! Its good to experience adversity early in your growing so you know how to handle it quickly in future grows.

Is your Ph instrunment properly calibrated? If it's saying 6, I'd call it a friggin liar and re calibrate it. You are having a nutrient uptake issue due to overly high Ph. 6 would not cause your leaves to get them rust spots or the tacoing affect. As a matter of fact, 6 would be just about ideal for a lot of mj. Perhaps things will get better for them now that you are on top of it again. They are definately looking hungry.

Here's the place to speak to the man himself about the Lucas Formula

Peace
