Help me identify gender, please!

Hey everyone,

Well, I started out rough... These plants are 3 months+ old, kind of just started impromptu with bagseed in some soil in solo cups... But I've grown and expanded a lot, and I've got 6/10 alive (I had to kill 4 for space reasons...) with 4/6 definite females.

These two are the oldest, are from a different random genetic selection of bag seed, that only 2/10 germ'd originally... AKA these genes might be weak naturally, but they have not show gender that I can tell yet... Let me know what you think.

First up is "Buzz", plant 1 from germ 1...

Germ 1 Plant 2 "AKA" Steve (I think this one is male)

Aaaand just to show you, because I think she's pretty friggin' sweet, this is Tiny Tabatha. I had to keep her in a 12oz solo cup for TWO MONTHS. This little girl is two months old, and only six inches tall.

And the rest of the grow. Behind the tomato sauce (Tabatha's old grow prop when she was in the cup) is a 18" oscillating fan to blow on the girls. Up top is two 85watt 5000K CFLs on the inside with 2 68watt 2700Ks on the outside, and a 6in fan blowing on them.

Thanks for looking, let me know what you think about those top two plant's gender, please! Gonna switch to flower soon and need to take cuttings shortly.

Buzz hasn't shown sex yet, or atleast the pics do not indicate sex either way. Take some cuts and flip it if you want to speed up the process.

Steve is a dude. 100%.

I would suspect Steve is a male. I have found that usually if I'm not completely sure it is a female, then it generally is a male.

Bud is too early to tell.

I've taken cuttings, one from every female and Buzz, none of Steve, but that was yesterday and I want to see if they're viable before I flip to flower... Also want to get my friend's 400HPS, which I'll be getting on/around the 7th, so I'll probably wait to flower until then.

Positive enough on Steve that you'd cut him down? Fitting for him to die on the last day of the year....

EDIT: Also, is there anything wrong with Buzz's stem? It's dark red... About two weeks ago, they were subjected to a nutrient deficit, but I balanced that out and they're growth has come back, but Buzz's stem stayed red... Thanks!

Feel free to wait a bit on Steve if you want, but if its me, he's dead, I see a nuts that's enough for me, unless im collecting some pollen.

Buzz looks fine from what I can see, looks like you have it back on track. Many strains can exhibit red stems as a genetic trait. It can also be nutrient deficiency related, either way as long as the plant is healthy, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have many healthy plants that have red/purple/pink stems.

That's what I wanted to hear, thank you very much!
I'll probably chop Steve down next feeding, I'll keep an eye on him everyday though.

It all lingers on Buzz being female... If it's a male, this harvest is gonna be much less than I thought it was. :(

We already said that.
Do you believe us now?

Hard to say. If the preflower looks like a crab claw, it's a boy. Otherwise it's a girl.

Those are some pretty purple stems.

Why did you give them boys names? That's bad luck...

They're 3 months old? At that age...they should be close to finishing up flowering...why are you waiting so long?

Go back and look around the 5th-9th node...I bet you've got some decent preflowers there to sex them. Sometimes they take a while to fully develop.

Oh...and don't cull until you're sure. Randomly throwing away plants isn't the best, most efficient way to grow. you may have thrown away a lot of girls. There's no way to accurately tell before they preflower. Many times, the girls are the "shittier" looking plants when young.

Good luck!

Still no major sign on Buzz... And my math is incorrect on how old they are.

Buzz is just now about 2.5 months old (time flew so fast I thought it had been longer ;p), the rest are around 2months. I'll be flowering here shortly, as soon as I get a heat issue with my closet fixed. 370 CFM inline fan is in the mail as of Thursday.

I'll get some new pics up tomorrow. Thanks for the insights!
