hey guys i got a growlab 60 with a 150watt hps, dimensions of the growtent are 2' x 2' x 5'3".

whats the best way for me to cool it? right now i have no ventilation so the heat is just sitting in the grow tent at around ~95 degrees. anyone have any recommendations for a exhaust that will get the job done, but stay quiet as well? (hopefully without the use of a muffler)

Fitting nicely? Unless you mis-stated your specs, fitting perfectly would be a better description. Coupled with your desire for low noise, I can't imagine a better fit.

If you don't mind some extra noise, try Great Inline Fans (S&P)

i got the gl40. i just used an inline duct fan (4 inch), not a blower, one of those duct booster fans.

but, this cab is for moms and only has 2 cfl's in it.

try that and if it isnt enough, make it your intake fan :abduct:

freezer boy this looks very promising, what would be the best way for me to mount this in it? because in his instructions on your first link he built a box that was 1'x3' to hold it. any suggestions? also do you think this would definately keep it cooler in there? right now my growlab is inside of a closet so it barely fits in it.

he built a box that was 1'x3' to hold it.

Actually the box is approx 11 inches x 11 inches, built with 1 inch x 3 inch furring strips. It's not a 12 inch x 36 inch box. The fan model in question is approx 11"x11"x8". As the filter box is flush with the fan's base flange, it only adds to the height for a final approx shape of 11"x11"x11"

I'm unfamiliar with the actual support system of the tent but, bungie cords would be my first thought for hanging the fan (note shots 2 & 3 and the knots used to customize cord length). Maybe a shelf suspended from the top?

Here's a chart to see what kind of cooling any given CFM will have on any given lamp wattage. So, how cool is your closet? Note that venting exhaust air into the closet will raise it's ambient temps. I get away with it because my "closet" is a 2 car garage.

should i try to cut a hole in the back of my closet for exhaust venting? my "closet" is a dresser from ikea

I'm getting confused. How many tents, closets and/or armoires are we talking about? Whatever you're in, there needs to be an exhaust hole or there's no exhaust. The bigger area you exhaust into, the less effect exhaust will have on that rooms ambient temps.
