Help me design my growroom, dr60 II

I have a lot of problem with temps in my tent when it's closed.
I would need some help to maximize my setup in order to beet the temp problem I have. If its possible :p

First off, my setup is the following:
* Dark Street II 60, 60 x 60 x 140cm
* 250W HPS bulb with "standard" reflector, no cooltube..
* TT 100 fan with a kapacity of 145/187 m³/h.
* Carbonfilter 240 m³/h.

And I have a fan just to circulate the air and give the plants a thicker stem. I also have a humidifier because Its really dry air up here, it was like ~20-25%RH before I got the humidifier.

This is what I have to work with.

The thing is that I don't have any ventilation in the room itself, the only thing there is really, is the window and the door.

Right now, when both the tent is open and the door I have good temps. 26 - 29c, and 30 - 50% RH.

It works now when the plats are small, but when they grow bigger I want to seal of the tent (because of the smell and so my carbonfilter can do its job)

any tips?

have a nice one !

Is the TT 100 fan an inline fan? If not what kind is it? And what's the duct size if applicable?

My recommendation is to have the filter & fan strapped near the ceiling of tent and have the fan suck air through the filter and exhaust out the nearest window, or wherever you feel is safe and convenient. Just not in the same room as tent. That'll get ya by...if ya got the right kinda exhaust fan. If not you can buy a 4" inline with 200+ cfm for about $75.

if you can do things with your hands, you could try search the forum for "DIY Cool Tube" some nice ones and not very expencive. :)

Heres the fan

the fan is my exhaust, and it is closest possible to the ceiling.
For now I removed the filter so I dont get any loss. and because the filter aint doing nothin' for now.

I dont think I can exhaust the hot air out my window due to stelth factor, thinking that it will show so obvious from outside (its really cold outside -10 or something, I was thinking that it will become smoke/condense or whatever u wanna call it.)

U think it will do anything if i put an intake fan and suck cold air from the window to the tent? and just leave the exhaust fan as it is? Or will it just be waste of time?

Thing is, I really not sure a if cooltube will help me because I exhaust in to the same room as my tent. so the air will just circulate.

If you manage temps I would set it up like Filter ->Fan-> Cool tube ->up outside of tent . This would draw air from lower vents in tent from room... where the cooler air is while the out is above tent.

The cool tube would reduce the heat in the tent and put it a bit outside. If you have any cooler air entering the room it should work fine. A 250 doesn't put off much heat.

im having the same "problems" as you.. thats why there is allways 2 windows open abit in each end of the appartment.. if i close the windows, my room will be heated up in about 40 min. or so.. so.. remember having some fresh air coming inside your room. :)

Think im gonna try this, and hope it works. But I don't know if it will work because it feels like the hot air will just circulate in the room and then back in to the tent.

But it can be possible that the hot air will cool down before going into the tent again.

The room itself have a little drag from the window, so it's ~20 - 23c.

cant have my windows open, its -10c outside right now, and it will get much colder. I know I need fresh air, but thats why I have this thread, to get suggestions etc. For now I have stable temp with the tent wide open and the door slightly open. As I said before this solution isn't any good when the plats go into flowering and start to smell. Whats why i want to find a solution so i can have the tent closed, I don't mind having the door slightly open, it just the tent I want to close so that carbon filter can do it's thing..

the other option will be an intake fan, with the ducting from the window in to the lower parts of the tent, but not open the window, just use the "self-drag" otherwise if opening the window it will get too damn cold..

Cracking the window while lights on should be sufficient to fix the problem. Is the area of the intakes double the size of the exhaust ducting?

Use caution when using "active" intakes for cabs/tents/rooms as you need to make sure you're still blowing more air out than blowing in, or else your going to have smell issues...maintain the negative pressure!

Also be aware when bringing in cold air into hot air, condensation can be an issue. Maybe something very small like a hose pipe into the room? Your air outside is so damn cold it shouldn't take much to lower the overall room temp.

My idea would be a tube/hose pipe from outside into like an ice chest. The ice chest could have a vent fan triggered by a thermostat. That way the condensation would be in the box, and the air flow could be regulated.

Its just an idea... trying to help.

What's the deal with this fan? It looks like an S & P Silent imitation, and even though it should be able to handle a 250w light in a 2' x 2' x 5.5' tent, maybe it has no balls to pull through your filter. A 4 inch Ostberg centrifugal fan would resolve any issues, but there's gotta be some other issue with the current configuration, and I'm betting fan.

This all said, with that space I'd drop your 250 bulb naked in the center of your cab, and do a vertical chicken-wire scrog around it. Intakes in the rear down low, and scrubber mounted high in the front of cab, pulled by the fan and exhausted to rear of tent up high. This way, fresh air is pulled across the plants, making for better gas exchanges.

Your results could easily be this using this method, and it might simplify ducting.

pics are from G_man and Prenda...the first guys I saw using this technique so effectively. These were done with a single 150 watt light with no reflector; your 250 would make some tight buds here.

anyhow, just want to let u know..
temp is OK when closed now (~28c), I think its because its colder outside and there for colder in the room. And it will get even colder outside so im gonna deal with this problem later.

Thank you all for your awesome support! =)=)=)
