help me decide what to buy

new medical grower here. i have a 12 plant limit and a 8x10 ft basement to grow in. i am a little short on cash so i plan on using a diy hydro system. tell me how you would do it? what kind of hydro system should i use? ebb and flow vs dwc vs rdwc??? i plan on flowering 4 plants at a time what kind of lights should i get?

Go here, watch all that are in the series. If you grow 12, you'll likely have extras. You can then look into donating your extras to a dispensary I'd imagine or another med user. I'm sure another med user could use some help.

i was considering doing that but i thought about it and thought maybe i could yield more like this. what i go with 1 12pot rdwc setup. i put 4 buckets in the flower room and 8 in the vegg room. if i did that and just moved the plants into flowering as they are ready i could still harvest every 8 weeks and each pant going into flowering would be vegged for 16 weeks and yeild more in the same time. ehat do you experts think about my idea?

Definitely build an aeroponics hydroponics system. They work amazing and the plants grow really fast. Just make sure to use good quality pumps with a filter.

If you are short on cash. Consider going with grow bags full of Promix or hempy buckets. Best use of your money at start is to invest in lights, good ventilation, and quality nutrients. You can always upgrade to a more intense system later on down the road.

alright thank you for all of the responses guys, i am a new michigan medical grower so i need all of it. after more research i plan to go with this set up.

-600 w hps for flower room
-6 plants under the 600 like this in a 6 pot 3-gallon bucket diy rdwc hydro system

i think i will go with the same vegetative set up as in the link megas kindly referred me to.(drip system under 3 2bulb t5s) unless someone can recommend a better option that is.
as for the aeroponic cloner i might build one later but it doesn't seem like a necessity for me yet.
3 more questions, can i use hempy buckets temporarily and later upgrade to rdwc with the same buckets?
and are the 3 2bulb 4 ft flouros sufficient to vegg 6 more plants to be ready by harvest to keep this thing perpetual?
also, could i do a scrog in flower without vegging the plants in the same room?

You could reuse the buckets, but with the hempy you have a hole about 2" up from bottom so your feed or return would have to be there.

Really you are better to have your scrog screen more than half full before flipping it. You can preveg it. I do the same thing. Am making the switch to vertical scrog myself. What is your plant count/allowance?

May be better to run 8 under the 600 and harvest one per week, move a prevegged screen in every week. Or use larger screens and only have 4 under the 600 pulling one every two weeks.

grow trees in coco using H3ad's modified lucas formula for coco.

veg 6 plants at a time either under a horizontal 400w or around a vertical 400w.
move to 5gal containers after 4 weeks of veg.

flower 6 plants at a time around a vertical 1k.
flower in 5 gal containers for indica dominant plants and indica leaning hybrids. bigger containers for sativa leaning hybrids or full on sativas.

This should allow you to:
1)take clones right after you chop your flowering ladies.
2) get 8 weeks veg with a 70 day strain and 2 weeks rooting time
3) veg out plants to be small trees
4) coco lets you not worry about overwatering and lucas formula is really simple to use.
5) hopefully harvest 1-2.5 lbs every 10 weeks.
6) stay within the limits while having extra.
