help me choose my strains

Guest

hey all,

lately I've got some locally bred seeds, those you see in my signature.
I'm gonna buy some new strains soon.I'm cheap, I mean I cant afford the expensive strains.
I was planning on ordering gypsy, nirvana seeds : master kush, afghani, chitral, ice, white rhino, bubbelicious.Maybe a few others, like their blueberry like.

Do you guys think it's a good choice, or I should go for only one good strain from another breeder.Last seeds I bought were sensi seeds at least 7 years ago, so I know nothing about all the new breeders, and I just cannot decide.

thanks in advance

I'm in the process of buying equipment for for my first grow but ive been looking through strain guides and reviews for over a year. This is my first year living away from parents so I chose to start growing!

From what I hear now there isnt a single seedbank that sells good quality, high yielding white widow. If your looking for a strong high and great yield definetly try a northern lights strain. That NL5 x Haze is supposed to be outstanding and the sativa flowering of the Haze should be cut down by the excellent indica genetics of the northern lights.

White rhino was on my wish list as well, it look's funky and cool to me, but its also an especially easy strain to grow! Do note! I have seen many reviews saying that you should let it go an extra week from when you think your going to harvest when the pistils are changing color. This time allows the trichomes to form all over the leaves and buds creating that white strain look. Apparently the buds multiply a little in size with that extra week or so.

Sensi carries alot of the same seeds nirvana does. And your probably ordering stuff similar to your last order am I right?
I'd look into Green House Seeds a little more and maybe Reservoir seeds.
Green House has the original genetics for the white widow, which makes it a 50/50 sativa indica hybrid. They created the white rhino originally as well! They have a excellent super silver haze, and a variety of interesting other haze sativa"s!

Lastly if youve never grown any AK variety's then many would say your missing out big time. Strong high and quick flowering is what it's all about if your dealing and not a connoisseur.

Although I think your a connoisseur cause bubblelicious, citral, and ice were on it.
In that case check out Reservoir seeds Sour Diesel!

I hope I've kind of helped spread what was already in back of your head, or reaffirm your direction!

After Lots of hesitation, I decided to go for black domina again, definitely.I wanna grow its different phenos.

I'm very interested in reservoir strains too.I'm actually looking for the short flowering sativa that gives a clear paranoialess high.I know of cinderella99 and sour diesel just because people mention it.I couldn't find real info about their effects though.I guess I'm a bit slow here....they're not available anymore, right ? :D

I looked at the strains' descriptions but most often they concern another strain.

i must say that i do enjoy a fine Black Domina, however i think you can do better

I have never grown it myself, but from what i hear it is not the most difficult to grow. I have however smoked it a few times, and while being a nice high its not nearly as potent as i like.

as i have all confidence in the cat who grew it, i think that maybe he didnt strike upon the best phenotype, thus my issues with the potency.

some strains i like:

any diesel, but especially sour D IBL
D.J. Short's True Blueberry
White Widow or a mix with it
C99, of course
ANYTHING from B.O.G., his shit rock my socks (most of it anyhow)

i understand that most/all of these seeds are either hard to come by and/or really expensive, but you get what you pay for my man.

good luck with your purchases and future grow, i hope you keep us posted on where you are at with your choices and how that all goes..

Keep it clean, Keep it green.

Well you can't go wrong with the 6 or 10 pack Nirvana deals on SeedBay.. I like all 3 NL crosses, with the BigBud cross being the best. I would also grab a pack each of MOD's seeds. He uses Kali mist and Destroyer in his crosses which are 2 excellent strains. Also try Mandala seeds like hashberry and a bunch more.. they are cheap..

ouch man 300 bucks for beans, that is truly painful, although they are some of the best

i have never grown the wonder D, but i have, luckily had the opportunity to smoke it twice

superb smoke, but of course lacking that wonderful sour smell/taste, very potent.. the batches i got were from a buddy of mine at *local university #2* that he got from home up north (little bit north and east of san fransico bay). he got it from a club both times, however i could tell that not only was the first batch picked early, but i could smell/taste the nutes :badday: the second batch however was much fuller and tasted really freaking good.

so in general i would say go for it, but dont trust me, do a little research on it

Yes, some inflation. I bought the very same V3 packs about two years ago for aproximately $80 a piece. Although it's value for your money.

Sour Diesel V3

Playing around with some cheaper Nirvana strains might be a good idea if you're looking for something new without really knowing what you're looking for, and you don't pay dearly if it would not turn out to your liking.
Nirvana is a good place to start, even if they kind of reap the benefits of other breeder's work by putting out knockoffs, it's good value for money. A good breeder that sells his medical strains at a fair price is Motarebel (about $20-30 a pack). He recently got busted so buying his beans is an act of support.
A lot of kiddie growers concider Sensi Seeds "old hat", they've been around for quite a while and you rarely see any updates in their catalogue, but their stock still rocks. My personal opinion is that their Black Domina, Northern Lights #5 x Haze and Mother's Finest outdo anything you'll find in Nirvana's line, so hang on to these strains.
As Stoned Silly said, Mandala put out good reasonably-priced strains, and you should definitely try any strain from Serious Seeds (the AK-47 and Kali Mist being my personal fav's). This is in the mid-field price range. Blockhead from Spice of Life will not let you down, neither will Rezdog's Sour Diesel.

thank you very much for your input.
yes, sensi seeds definitely rock.all their strains are great quality. So far I have a chrystal mum, and a NLxSHIVAxWWxWW mum that I selected and that happen to be very good.I looked but didn't find any motarebel info...
Like many beginners I sound like I don't know...I kept away from the scene for very long and now have a very lil closet , that's why I'm picky with the strain I'll let in."stable, not expensive, vigorous, short flowering period, quality-no paranoia effect"....quite tough to spot :)

this morning my ballast seemed like it was overheating and I may have to get a 400w sunbox asap....gnnnnnn I may have to wait for the seeds.

thank you very much :)

Check out Subcool's gear, his Fiesta Mix was probably the best $20 I ever spent. Northernberry is another very good inexpensive strain, that is from Peak Seeds. there are strains out there that are very expensive but maybe worth every penney but at the same time there is alot of very inexpensive seeds available that just rock. Out of the Fiesta Mix I ended up with Mom's of both Astroboy and Conquistador, two very nice strains for $20. Subcool also has a Full Melt Mix for $40 that looks very sweet.

IMHO there is alot to say for a trusted breeder like shanti's random mix pack of seeds. u can get them cheap and find quality genes in them. provided you don't really care if you know the name or not.

Yeah sorry about that chrystal, you did say your on a budget as am I so 295 bones for some beans truly is an investment. I agree with stoned silly any northern lights crosses are excellent. The NL#2 the oasis comes highly regarded. NL#5 I believe is more of a sativa variety and take a little longer to finish. Sensi crossed it with a haze plant so it's potent to say the least.

This is a decent place to cruise through, its got a strain index for all the seedbanks, seedbay doesent have everything you will see there but somebody does if your willing to go right through the seedbank.
It's also got lots of reviews, I found some of them to be completely useless information wise, but now you can kinda look around real good before making a transaction.

yes sogman, that nl5xhaze is some quality strain. The mellow of its high is something.Durga mata is great for the shiva lover I am.
the fmale seeds cinnamon is something I am totaly unlikely to grow, so I thought it would be interesting to try.
