Hey everyone, just to let you know a bit about my grow, i'll be doin it at about 43N, in NE USA.. Nothin big at all, just wanna get a little variety so I can have some pretty trees to hold me over. In any case, I need to decide on a few outdoor strains.. I already have nigernian nightmare from reeferman, and I might want to try one or two more nice producers for outdoors.. However, even though they lack in the potency dept. i've always been attracted to the beauty of a nice purple plant. So, if anyone could suggest to me some nice strains, maybe that you've had similar expereince with, i'd be grateful.. here are the ones i'm considering, because they both look attractive, and are available on the SB site.

paradise: sweet purple
reef: potent pruple
Nirvana: purple power
DP: purple star
DP: purple 1
Female seeds: purple power

please lemme know what you think, obviously, the more potent/larger/stable plants are nicer, but I also definetly want a deep/defined purple.

Kiefer, I've been having great success with dj shorts flo. Its a purple thai x afghani and the indica crosse brings down the flowering time into the 55-65 day ballpark. its got lovely purple in it and the stone is very good. I've gotten a few phenos out of a pack of seeds. I've had good buds from it outdoors too. I definately suggest it.

ps its been said somewhere flo can have slight hermie problems, but I don't know if I beleive because I've never seen it once.

also kiefer you said you want a deep defined purple, well I've seen a few phenos in my plants. an all green sativa, all purple sativa, and an indica sativa purple and green mix

hey kiefer...

i grew purple no.1 in THE WORST season the uk has seen for ages, 2004, and also as a nOOb and got a jarfull of the brightest purplest buds i have ever seen... i'm a bit of a light weight, but it was totally acceptable in the stonage department, all my stoner buddies loved it... i have some great pics on my other pc... i'll try remember when i'm home... a bit harsh on the throat ( i smoke clean) but an unusual fruity palate that was quite nice, but not mindboggling! gauranteed to finish, and tough as nuts... NO mold and it was pissing with rain all the time...

that's my eperience!

Hey wam (think i remember you from OG, I had a diff name) anyways, thanks a lot, I have actually tried a couple of purp ones last year, but I started them lil too early inside, and I think i put them outside without adjusting light enough, they seemed very photoperiod sensative.. anyways, they hermied a bit, and I harvested WAY premature, but I def noticed they were turning a nice purple.. I should probably give them another try, since im sure it was my fault I messed them up last year, but all my other strains survived, I think it was just the most photosensative.. anyways, thanks, might try it again

I think that yeah, its definately worth the price. especcially if you get two good mothers. Let me clarify. I see purple on everybud....but......some buds are all purple. some are almost all green with purple tips on the calyxes, and some are an interesting mix of the two colors. but if you go flo, you will have no probs with the colors your looking for. I've also heard good thinks about the urkel and the grandaddy purple.

The Purp is good, looks nice, but takes cool weather (near frost) to bring out the color. And yes they will do just fine outdoors at your Lat.

thanks.. but it doesnt always take cold weather, sometimes its just the genes of the plant, anyone know where to get grandaddy purple, or purple urkal, or any of the early purp varieties you suggest? thanks for the help as always

I think Purple Urkle may be an clone strain out here in Cali...

I grew it outdoors last year and I've got some growing right now. I'm thinking it didn't turn all that purple this year, but it also stayed warm pretty late. Here, I'll go take a picture...

...I meant to say "clone only strain". I'm sure it's been crossed with just about everything under the sun by now, though...

hey kiefer.....what you want to look into is biddy early from magnus....really purple, early, and doesn't lack potency that most purple strains do.

peace
