Help identifying unknown bug

Hi all! I've been having issues with my plants having twisted leaves and random spotting and leaf tearing. I have been thinking it's due to nutrients because I have checked so many leaves and samples of dirt for bugs and never found any....

Today I found one! It's a teeny tiny white spec and when under a microscope it looks like a thrip? But it has what looks like pincers on the rear end of it.

I have never grown before and have no idea about bugs. I think it's a baby thrip, but I could be wrong.

Any help identifying the bug in question and how to get rid of it would be appreciated!

Could it be a baby earwig?

I'm really not sure. I have not seen any earwigs so far. My first guess is thrips based on the color and eyes. But it does appear to have a pincher in the rear, could those be like legs? So... I really have no idea haha

Springtails

The "pincers" you see is called a furculum. It is the mechanism the propels that enables springtails to 'spring'.

Hmm, someone else mentioned it could be springtails as well. But from what I've gathered they don't really affect the leaves?

I've been having a issue with my plant's leaves twisting and finding tears/holes. Perhaps I've got multiple bugs? I've checked a million leaves and random topsoil under a microscope over the last month or two and this is the first bug I've seen.

Post a pic and i can check in here for ya

There's a image in OP, but I think you saw it after you posted.

I've had 1 person say thrip and 2 people say springtails. Springtails don't seem to cause issues to the plants from what I've read so far. But my plants are showing signs of bugs. So I(a total noob lol) am leaning towards thrips as well. I've ordered some spinosad to treat the plants with. I think spinosad takes care of springtails as well.

Yep i saw the pic after i posted.

Glad to hear spinosad will kill both. Honestly pic looks just like a pic of a thrip i see in this book only those pincher like things at the rear in your pic are not on these shown in the book. The eyes, head and everything else looks the same. Also springtails are not even listed in his book as cannabis predatory insects just fyi.

Spinosad, Thats the stuff i use on thrips to. Monterey garden spray with spinosad. I spray plants and soil three times five days apart i dont see them again after that for the rest of the grow.

Good luck my friend and happy gardening!

FYI: Springtails aren't listed as a pest of Cannabis because they aren't damaging to the plant.

Thanks for sharing that info my friend.

I do believe he mentions he is haveing damage done to his plants though.

Here's Springtails

I still don't really know what it is. It's like a thrip and springtail had a baby lol.

I ordered some spinosad off amazon but I also went to lowes and picked up a spray bottle premixed spinosad because it seems whatever it is...it's getting worse. I'll be doing my first treatment later on.

It has tail pipes . This could be a root aphid , they do damage . Spring tales don't . Does it have 6 legs or 8 .... this quote I've seen many time it goes like this - If it has tailpipes its RA --Granger

check leaves throughly . Thrips are easily spotted and the easiest to eliminate with spinosad two doses and DONE
Here's the weird thing... I cannot find any other bugs. Since finding this one I have examined so many leaves, both on the tops and undersides and have not seen any more.

I've also done 1 treatment with spinosad and *hope* it kills whatever is causing my issue.

I was only able to get 1 good picture of it(the one I posted here). The other pics are blurry. I can only count 6 legs.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is RA? Root aphid? And... do root aphids show themselves on the plant? Or as the name suggests they live in the roots?

What I'm really kicking myself in the ass for is I switched to 12/12 the day before I found this bug so I don't have the luxury of vegging until it's recuperated.
