Good deal? Bad deal?... Depends where in the world you live ... A standard reflector with nothing else except a lamp holder goes for $200+ where I live, that's the going rate, not bad at all if you ask me.
If it's a $100 reflector it's a bad deal. If it's a $200 reflector it's a good one. I'm guessing that's what he's trying to ascertain with this thread. For what it's worth, it looks like a good reflector to me. The $100 cool tubes don't look that good by a long shot.
At this point you own the reflector, dude, and since you bought the floor model you probably can't return it. The thing to do now is assume you got a deal so you'll feel happy, and then try and get as much use out of it as possible. Put a 600 watt bulb in there and pull a pound off of it, and $50 too much or too little isn't going to seem like a big deal.
IMO that's a very reasonable price for an air-coolable reflector. VERY. It is not a model familar to me, though, so I can't help you search for the list on it. No markings at all?
Is anything stamped or printed on it? I'm sure you checked for a brand or model name already, but try doing google searches for anything else that might be there. I've had lots of success finding out about a product by searching for what looked like a serial number but ended up being a model and google found it.
