HELP i really fucked up bad... brown/wilted top shoots

well, yesterday i had a herm in my garden and my best, purple plant had some mildew on it. so i read that spores cant live in a high alkaline enviroments, so i mixed a ph10+ water solution and sprayed... including the new growth on top of my plants, and this is the results:

what i figure is, that the high ph blocked transfer of essential nutrients, so to combat this i fed it some veg nutes and watered it with regular ph5 water. im afraid that the top might die and effectively top my plant, ruining the repotting that i just did yesterday... has anyone had anything like this, and have any advice on what to do or know what will happen? would it be better if i chucked the plant and re-used the soil for another plant?

I don't know about the top, but it's important how strong your PH 10 watering solution was. Eg, I'm having a prob with acid soil so I used a 11.7 ph solution to water with, but it wasn't very strong just 1 tsp hydrated lime per gallon - if I'd have made it 10 tsp per gallon it'd still have the same ph but kill my plants I think.

very strong... i put a generous amount of ph up in the spray bottle. my ph tester only goes up to 10, but usually about 1tsp is enough to raise the ph by 2 points. i poured the ph up in the spray bottle so if i were to guess the ph would be 18-22, but i dont think ph goes that high. needless to say, there was alot of ph up in that spray bottle

jeeez ..... wtf?!!! you sprayed with straight ph up?!! ... not the wisest thing to do as you've found out. .... I'm pretty new, but I don't think the high ph blocked nutes, it just burned your plants.

oh and btw as I was trying to point out, strong isn't nec. the same as high ph, you can have a high ph and a weak solution.

I've really not much idea, but if I were to guess, if you absolutely had to spray them with ph up, I'd think that any more than 1 tsp per 2 or 3 gals would be too much.

nah man, id guess it was like 70% water 30% strong ph up. the ph up i have comes in crystals and i mix em in warm water to make a strong liquid ph up. my ph ups/downs are really strong what i should've done was measured them out to ph 8/8.5/9 but instead i dumped a whole bunch in like an idiot. thanks for your help man but i think this plants a lost cause... ill wait until tomorrow to see whats up then ill either let it go or pluck it out and replace the plant with a better, healthier one
