Help First time Growing alone! (need help with electrical)

Hey guys whats up this will be my first time growing alone ive grown before with 2 partners (Ebb N Flo and a Dripper) basically I financed it, anyways we've gone are seperate ways and I no how to grow, but need a bit help with the room setup.

Im planning on using 1 room in a 2 bedroom apartment with 3600watts. What I need help with is setting up the electrical so that the one room can handle all that juice without blowing a fuss or tripping the breaker.

The only suggestion I was given by a friend without going into to much detail about why I im doin this is to drill a hole in the wall and pass and extension cord threw to grab power from the other rooms, there must be a better way then this surely?

first of all i would highly recommend u not do that much in an apartment cause u will get busted. Second since you do not have access to the main breaker your friend is right. thats a little over board bro and when the hydro meter man sees your meter spinning like a mile a min u will get popped......give this whole thing some more thought bro

Yea with all due respect thanks for the advice but Ive grown in apartments before with no problems for the last 1.5 years Ive just been the guy that went and checked with my partners how everything was goin. I mean a 2 bedroom apartment using 3600 maybe 4000 watts daily isint out of the ordinary is it? And in a Highrise Apartment were talking hundreds of units there not checking all that man.

dude if u have been growing so much why dont u just play safe and buy a house? you must have the cash! that would make more sense. It just seems like a major risk. everyones hydro bills in the building is like 50 bucks and yours is 250...a little suspicious dont you think. im surprised youve made it to 1.5 years. Ive been in the game for 8 years. I would bet everything I have if u keep doing it that way u wont make it pass year 3. Never the less stay safe.

Cant afford it Weed isint as expensive where im from as some other places so you dont become Bill Gates over night, and I had partners before first time Solo. Anyways im not saying your wrong, and im not trying to offend you. I read a few threads on this site about Apartment growing seems like alot of people are against it but there is some people that have done it sucessfully and no how to set it up So if anyone wants to tell me if this is due-able or not let me no guys.

Ive done it before too, but I too think you should get a house.... That said since you aint got one and you got an apartment, I would get some six gauge wire and a subpanel, wire that baby up to a 50 amp breaker in your main panel, then you only have one wire going into it and you dont have a fire hazard with extension cords.

BTW, I have only run 1200 watts in an apartment, but it was a 1 bedroom, and second I have no electrical experience whatsoever, when I did it I ran heavy duty extension cords, but I wouldnt recommend it, for saftey sake.

Maybe you could flip flop the room so you dont need as much amperage for the room?

Yep, split the room into two flower areas with panda film, get 240v into the room if you can, and use a flip-flop to halve your ballast running at one time. If you use 240 you won't 'save money on power' but it will be nicer to your wires and be less of a hazard.

Make sure all your ballast are set at 240 before plugging them in.. or POOF you'll let the magic smoke out..

Did you guy know that all electronics work because of magic smoke? Yep, if you let the magic smoke out it will stop working..

aright thanks guys maybe ill scale it down to 4 600 watters instead of 6 if its gonna be a saftey problem and run a flip-flop i actually like that idea.

On a side note my experience with apartments is, Ive lived in apartments almost my whole life and Ive seen the superintendent maybe 6 time in my life come into the apartments to do repairs and those were at either my request or my mothers when I was younger, and a week before we've moved out to make sure there was no damages to the unit. Lol even one time I had jus came back from the Gym and was sore I took a nice hot bath and the water leaked a little to the neighboor below me, the super came to my door and said you have water leaking from your bathroom on the below tennant I just said sorry I had a bath and a little fell out he said ok just clean it up and left.
So I duno if its cuz where I live or what but I havent encountered any of the horror stories Ive read some people post.

doesnt matter if you run a flip flop. Your total monthly usage will be the same. May decrease the electrical demand on your wiring some but really how much is loosing 1500 or so watts going to save?

Are you going to live in this apartment? If not, your usage may not be that much higher than average. Plus read all the posts about usage. Its a pretty popular opinion that the electric company doesnt care

3600 watts at 240 should be around 15 amps. I think you should run a line to the grow room, set up a sub panel and go town. Shouldnt be hard.

I am not sure if my balls are big enough to grow in an aprtment where a landlord has access though. My heart jumps every time my dogs run to the window barking.

Yes Yamaha Good to see you bro im a big fan of your work I followed most of your Grow. Anyways with the Apartment situation I wouldint be living there maybe spending 2 or 3 days out of the week there and have my bro baby sit most times. Is there any DIY Sub-Panel Setup Threads? Funny thing is I have two friends that are electricians that smoke madd chron but I still wont ask them anything Im still comtemplating telling my brother and having him baby sit.

Also is there a difference in setting up a Sub-panel on a Main Breaker that uses Fuses ? I ask this cuz out of the 4 apartments ive lived in they all used fuse Boxes
