Hello ,

I have decided to buy a grow tent either one from "Hydro hut" or dark room from jardins...........

4x4 will be the size.

I am seeking all the bells and whistles that I can put in , that will optimize my garden....... can anyone with already having sucess in a hut this size please tell me all that i need to buy :1help: ........ thank you for all your help,

Peace!!

p.s. being that these huts range from 6.5 - 7ft......using the flood and drain (4x4)system , how tall can plants be grown here considering distance from lights and table..............please excuse if i sound out of whack here, I'm a rookie!!!

Hey happy to offer a little help and glad to see a newb asking for help... I know my foolish pride stopped me when I first started.

Well.. a 1000w will work perfectly for a 4x4 area. You'll want an aircooled hood to hold the bulb and a Can Fan RS6L with a Can 66 filter (or equivalent) will work perfectly. Basically you pull air into the carbon filter (smell), it goes into one end of the hood, takes the heat out of it and then exits the other end of the hood. The air then goes into the fan and out of the hut.

Flood and drain will work fine, thats a great starter system. I find soil to be the most forgiving medium; if the power goes out your plants are fine and you don't have to worry about fertilizing or mixing anything up, just add water.

You'll be able to fit 16 plants (1 per square foot) and flower them at around 1' to 1 1/2'. Depending on the strain they will stretch about 1'-2' and hopefully yield around an ounce or less.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask anymore questions.

hello jmister
i have a 3x3 hydrohut & a 4x4 secret jardin dr 150 in my opinion the jardin is better quality except for the zipper the zipper on the hh is bigger and works more freely.. i think right now i would definitely go with the secret jardin do the the off gassing problem hydrohut has been dealing with i love both of my tents they work great for what I'm doing i hope this helps a little :rasta:

I'm with dankster in that you should go with dr150. A 1k will be ROCKIN in a 4x4 area and your yields will start hitting WELL over an ounce per plant once you got your shit dialed in right (depending on strain of course, I admit it's probably quite unfair to be using mandala's strains as my reference :-D).

Mr. C - I second your point on asking for advice. My first grow was years ago back when I was a lot younger and I had the same attitude - I can do this just fine I don't need to ask anyone blah blah. Wish I had.
JMister - Basically anything you wanna know can be found on this site Ive learned. Also tons of bud porn lol.

I'm following every single grow tent thread extremely closely b/c I'm thinking of investing in a DR150. If I get back as much as I think on my tax return it will be an early bday present. Carpentry is such a pain in the ass, I'm a lot better on the botany part. In closing, totally post some pics when you decide what you want, I'm always interested in how to set things up. I'd advise you have two extractor fans, one for cooling your closed reflector (active cooling on a 1k is almost mandatory), and one pulling through your filter ventilating the grow-room itself. I wish you the best of luck and success!

Peace,

Correction - the DR150 is 4 feet, 11 inches x 4 feet, 11 inches. So basically 5 x 5.
