HELP! Bubblegum & Bagseed problems!

I've got a post in the indoor grower forum for my new HH grow. The thing is, it's not going as well as I had hoped. I've done this once before with Nirvana's k2 and pulled a little over 5 ounces off one female.

I'm in a HH using a 400 watt HPS... the light is like 3 feet above my buckets.
I've got nothing but ph adjusted water (5.9-6.0) and hydrogaurd in each bucket. I fed them like 3 days ago and was told it was too early so I dumped the buckets and stuck with plain h20 for a while. I rooted in RR plugs

PPMs at 200, my tap is that high.
Ph at 6.0 in each bucket, rez temps about 70-72. The temps in the hut are between 68-78F.

Humidity is about 55-60% and I haven't watered by hand in about 2 days. I was told I overwatered as well.

One of my bubblegum's have a single root through the net pot. But only 1/8 in 9 days time?

These 2 are Bagseed

These 5 are BG and I've got one more just like it.

My hut

I assure you these colors are accurate. I've adjusted my camera to shoot without the HPS oRange shit.

What's wrongggggg????
Thanks

I thought the same thing... what does everyone else think? I was told I fed them too early... I mean my PPMs jumped to 900 but I'm using Fox Farm nutes and I thought organic read different on my TDS meter. I followed the FF hydroponic schedule.

Please, I'd love some more input guys. Core, thanks for the quick reply man.

wel np medgrower... the knowledge is limited but still she looks hungry.... 2 me that is...just stating my thoughts...good luck my friend!

I was thinking, I have Liquid Karma. I know it help root development and whatnot... should I add a little bit to the rez or mix up a diluted LK solution and pour it over my RR into the buckets? Or leave em alone.

how old are these little fullas ? they look a little young for feeding also do you have airstone in rez ??

They are 9 days old. I added a 1/4 tsp for 2 gal of water of Liquid Karma. ph is at 5.8-6.0... PPMs are at 250-300. Still handwater with my grow?

Ezzy these kids are day 11 and yes I have airstones in each rez. Thanks for the reply!

Blackvelvet... I've got FF Grow Big, yes.. I also have Cal-Mag for any additional problems. I poured 1/4 tsp of karma into my rez's to promote root growth. PPMs are 250-300. What do you think I should add to help them out. They are definatly in need of nutrients... I'm just too paranoid to overfeed. Thanks for the reply and help man.

Thanks again guys, I appreciate any help!

you might be doing too much.....

in my experience.... you can run seedlings in hydro (DWC my experience) with no nutrients supplemented, and they will grow a hell of a lot bigger than that before showing any signs of being hungry..

just my opinion/experience...

EDIT: sorry I see you changed out your res, and went to plain tap (I should read a little more into it before I respond :pointlaug ) let that ride for awhile.... they will like it......

So what do you think could cause my problems? Yellowing, leaf curling over/under, stunted growth? I have new sets of leaves coming in yellow?

Thanks Berry

Quick Pics

Quick Pics

I just snapped a couple pics to help describe whats going on today. I seriously appreciate everyone chipping in to help. Cool shit.

I thought maybe MG def & Ca... maybe even N. Never heard of light bleaching?

Slight curl though, looks weird. Kinda worried about em, never happened before.

Real color, not HPS color either. Temps & humidity all the sam as before...

Much love IC

I took my daily readings today and they all look good.

ph - 5.8-6.0
PPM using only tap and Liquid Karma - 250-280
Rez temps all at 69-72 and I'm using Hydrogaurd just in case.

Should recover within the next few days. I wish I knew what actually went wrong so I can learn from my mistakes. I also think I need some new airstones for 2 of my buckets, not enough Dissolved o2 reaching the plant.

When can I feed light veg nutes? I have FF Grow, Big Bloom, LK & Cal-Mag... how do I know when to feed, then how much to feed and out of what bottle? :yoinks:

Thanks IC

Day 12 today sorry.

Alright, still wondering what's going on. I've seen some growth.. but so slow it's not funny. What's wrong, something has to be wrong.. this isn't normal. They've been on straight water & LK att 250 PPMs. My tap is 200 PPMs so there is like no LK in the rez's.

Ph is at 5.9-6.0 in each bucket, rez temps 68-73... 68 being the lowest bucket and 73 being the warmest... the rest fall into that category.

All kinds of shit looks wrong, color, growth rate, not to mention the look so defiecient don't they? I took most people's advice and left em for about 5-6 days with water and hardly any change in size or color... let alone root size. What could be wrong?

Temps in my hut with lights on are about 74-80... without my light on it's about 68-74. Humidity is nice, 55% steady, maybe a little less in the evening.

What do I need to change, common IC. Someone has to know how to get these girls green and standing strong.

Feed yet? Don't they look like they're missing N,P,K,Mg,Ca,Iron?

You pro's tell me.

Hey man,
Your setup sounds pretty dialed in so Im not sure what it could be. Are your meters calibrated? Honestly, they look like sickly runt plants. I guess the odds of them all being runts are slim but still possible. Id be tempted to just start over since they are so young, not much time wasted. Hope you get it straightened out!

I just sterilized 2 liters of H20 ph'd down to 5.8 added 1/2 tsp of LK to it. Dipped my RR plugs in and started the 3 plants that showed root tonight. I have 5 more to do tomorrow. Gonna start again, try to fix anything I could have f'ed up this time. I want to switch to ebb and flow so bad. It seems more efficient. This new batch will be vegged under 2 2ft grow flouros on 24/0 then to 18/6 after 2 weeks to veg out a little longer under the 400 hps before the 12/12 flip. If you have any suggestions please chime in.

I think after all this my problem was, I rinsed my hydrotron with regular tap (8.2ph) water before going into the buckets... then right in with the RR plugs before I noticed any roots out the bottom. Ph problems early, the RR was covered by 8.2 wet hydrotron and in 6.0 rez water. It was all fucked up, they went into buckets too early. For sure. Lesson learned. I love this shit.

The buckets should serve you very well if you stick with them. Converting to E&F will obviously cost you more to setup. You could convert your buckets pretty easily but you would need a huge reservoir. If you have the cash to spare ($36/liter) a bottle of Hygrozyme would do wonders for your grow. I use it with Hydroguard and got good results with NO ROOT ROT, even in 72-75* water. In standing DWCs root rot is your main enemy. And next time wait until you have at least 2 or 3 roots poking through the plug before you install them into the buckets. Patience grasshopper.
(btw, good to hear your first grow finishing successfully!)

I'll definatly get some hydrozyme and use it with my hydrogaurd. Yeah, after this bucket run I'll either switch to ebb and flow or set my buckets up for recirc and buy a chiller... which are overpriced and the DIY's suck. If I go to ebb & flow all I need is a rez & tray I've got the rest of it. If I do go ebb & flow next time, instead of a chiller I'll get a 600 watt lumatek :joint:
