Help another new grower!!!

I have a grow area in my basement of 13 x 40ft.i am going to have a hydrofarm starting with about 16 pots.how much light would i need 2 cover my basement with 1000w hps

well 13 * 40 is 520 so you have 520 total sq ft in the room.

50 watts per sq ft is how much light is best. you can go more but usually you want to try to get atleast 50 watts per sq ft.

for the whole room you would need 26000 watts to do that, or 26 1k watt lights.

thats a lot for 16 pots, so you prolly want to make the room smaller for the flowering so you can get more watts in an area without buying so many lights.

you can use something like panda film to shorten the length of say the long 40 ft end.
