Hi All,
First of all we'd like to thank you for your patience.
We'd also like to say thanks to all the mods and members who helped us with testing over the last few months.
It's taken a long while to get here but we're finally on Xen, VB5 has been thrown outside and shot.
So, where are we at? We're calling this phase 1. Phase 1 consisted of moving away from VB5 and importing all user accounts, usergroups, nodes (forums), posts, attachments, vb3/5 galleries and groups. An ongoing part of this is the generation of thumbnails across the site, if you look around you'll notice that a lot of image thumbnails are currently replaced with placeholder images. We have a script running in the background that is processing each image and generating thumbnails, this process will take until around Tuesday after which time all albums / images in the system should have thumbnails.
From next Tuesday we will be working on phase 2, this will involve setting up a solid chat system and importing Old Galleries into new Xen albums. We know this is a priority for a lot of the older members, this is being worked on and will be done soon, in the next week or so soon. Phase 2 will also include bringing back groups. All of the group data is in the backend but there was an issue with member counts for groups which is being resolved by the add-on developers. Again, this will be fixed soon. Finally, we'll be adding back the emojis from the old site. We know the current emojis don't cut it and will be adding to them, the are coming back!
Once phase 2 is complete we will move onto phase 3 which will be the addition of further functionality to take the boards forward. We have a few ideas of what to add feature wise but we need to make sure everything above is done first. This phase will also include small changes to the styling to make things feel a bit nicer. We will not be touching any styling until this phase so please bear with us.
After extensive testing we feel that this is a much more solid platform and gives us scope to really push things going forward. The forum is now a lot less buggy, faster and more user friendly.
Please bear with us whilst we work on things. We hope you enjoy it.
Steven
P.S We have a very short (for the moment) FAQ here: https://www.icmag.com/threads/faq.18122565/
