HELICOPTERS

I'm about to start a growroom in my loft, I am paranoid that the cops will see my 600watt light with their heat sensitive cameras. Anyone know how to disguise the heat from your lights or if the helicopter stories are an old wives tale

Definitely true, not an old wives tale.

Insulate well and ventilate well. If you live where there is snow, make sure your grow area doesn't melt the snow off the roof while other areas and your neighbors houses still have snow - that's a dead giveaway.

Use an air-cooled light to keep as much heat vented directly outside as possible. Use under-eave vents or some method of getting the heat away from the roof.

You will probably get more tips in the "Security & Legal Issues" forum.

I wouldn't sweat one six hundred bulb, and neither would the helicopters. Busting your garden wouldn't pay for the gas that they use to fly over all of their area. They'll end up busting the guy with twelve thousand watts being vented out the same area. It'll look like a roman candle to their cameras.

My husband & I enjoy watching the show cops, for educational purposes, LOL

We saw the Marijuana bust marathon a few months ago.....I was swearing up a storm while watching it, but anyway, they showed the cops on ropes
dropping down from the helicopter, they grabbed the BUDDING plants with their hands and ripped them from the earth....I shed tears....I was so angry !!

The plants were in Hawaii in a sugar cane field. Someone really knew what they were doing because they were STUNNING!!. It was a crying shame to see that happen. It broke my heart :(

hello

hello

the only thing that will hide your lights from those camaras ,,or the only thing you could get ya hands on would be lead, you can melt down tire weights , and pour it into a thin sheet ,, but it will take alot of weights ,, but it works..

Info on the issue
http://www.palmir250.com/infrared_applications.htm

I'm not going to go into details at "ALL", but do a search under these words below and you'll find what your looking for. Because of my back ground, I'm not going to list the different methods that can be deployed. If your really worried and want to know what your house or roof top is putting out for a IR signal. Buy one of the cheaper camers or rent one and take a couple of pictures. Wish i could go into more details, but i don't need LEO coming after me for this stuff. Try these words and do alot of reading and you'll figure out how to beat and block them.
Take care

I cant believe they waste tax dollar money on INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE HELICOPTER FLIGHTS, just to police around and look for something thats POSSIBLY there.

Thats like hiring a bunch of police officers to walk around the woods every week and look for weed.

What a waste of time/money/ BETTER USES FOR POLICE.

Besides the small fact that IR searches were labled unconstitutional in the USA. [ But still AOK in Canada. ]

thats right i forgot they were ruled unconstitutional.....and as petrol prices go through the roof flying those helicopters will get more and more expensive.....

am i right in saying if you put the 600 watt light in the interior of the house that would be better than placing the light right next to the walls of your house......
