height n heat???

hey guys well im prty new to growing and i have a 400 w but i was just wondderin about the height of a new spot i wana move everything to its kinda short and im wonderin bout heat would it be bad??? and would this be enough room anyway im scroggin it? its about 41 inches high..and im switchin because this spot is more secluded and rly hard to findyou kno how it is...the safer the better thnx in advancen sry if this read is knda a downer ive gots headache from sum shwag my bros friend brought over haha weeds weed tho take it easy hope u all grow sum killer buds

Do a search for the user FreezerBoy. He has a lowrydin' ScroG on a 250 or 400.

Freezerboy knows his shit, and grows with a smaller HID (250w CMH, I believe). I agree with the last post, look him up. If height & heat are concerns, you might consider T5HO fluorescents, as well.

Search for SCROG and SOG. Use the advanced search and search titles only. You might also want to search for cabinet or closet or something.

If you only have 41 inches to work with you should look into growing under fluorescents.

You may want to poke through The 400 Watt Club to see what others are doing with 400's.

The question isn't cooling, that's easy. The question is, can you live with the fan noise that comes with it? I believe you said elsewhere this is a cellar grow? That will probably lower fan requirements and possibly relieve stealth concerns. Fans can be tamed to the point their noise stays inside the room. If no one goes in the cellar, your problem is gone. If they do, you'll need to muffle the noise and either mask that which remains or, as I do, pin the noise on a patsy like a freezer.

I don't know if you caught my last comment to you on my visitor page. While I need to poke my head in under the lamp, you may be able to build a slide-out tray under the res (ala The AMAZING NGB Cab) and pull the plants to you. This would allow the ScrOG you asked about.
