Im not sure what bushmaster is made of, but... IMO any chemical or nutrient that does anything but nourish the plant is bullshit. I say just top/lst them. That way you dont have chemcial infested buds.

If you're gentle with your LST, from what I understand and my limited experience you can LST the hell out of plants without really hurting them.

I did a little searching on bushmaster. Three things I found that seem to be worth mentioning.

  • Stress: Plant should NOT be currently under stress when bushmaster is used. So with the topping/LST, give the plant some time to recover before using bushmaster.
  • Kelp: "The use of kelp extract is strongly recommended. It contains a plant hormone called Kinetin as well as other compounds which complement the action of Bush Master. The best time to apply the kelp extract is about 3 days before the BushMaster. The kelp should also be used when watering with Bush Master. The best way by to apply kelp extract is by misting the tops and bottoms of the leaves rather than by watering it into the soil or growing medium. The effects are noted much faster with the use of kelp." (cut/paste)
  • Dosage: Reccomends 10ml per gallon for 1 watering, another at same or lower dosage if necessary in soil. Hydro is 3 -5ml/gal for 3 days.

Hope this helps a bit. I have no experience with the stuff myself.

Personally, I'd be more inclined to stick with LST/pruning to keep things in check. But that's my personal preference and I don't really have much experience to back it up. Bushmaster may be a wonder tonic, might be some :fsu: .

You could try giving a dose to one or two plants, see if there is any noticeable difference in growth patterns. That may lead to an uneven canopy, but it'd also be a reasonable way to test the bushmaster without risking your whole grow.

from my impressions of bushmaster i wouldnt use it
the buds looked strange
some say resin production was less due to faster maturity

I've used Bushmaster and it definetely works, but don't follow the directions on the bottle.

If you use it only use 1-3ml per gallon. 1-2ml/gal should be safe. Too much and you'll fry your plants.

thats the kind of answer i was looking for thanks...

I would also let a week of stretch not to get weird buds like the ones in the BM thread....

I suggest you hit them with 1- 1.5 ml and just do a little bit of lst after youve already seen results and the plants are doing good.

Id rather just give the plant the best possible organic soil and nutrients and lst/support it, and just forget the bushmaster.

I used bushmasters on my last grow. It worked well. I didn't see, but are you growing Sativa's or Indica's? You should get a good indication of the stretch based on the strain. I grew 6 different strains, some indica's, some sativas. I tried two different soils in veg and some were smaller than others. By this time it was a little late to start LSTing. I used BM on the large sativa's and it helped keep them in check.
