Heat stress?

Hey there Icmag.

I'm having a few issues with my grow.
I'm running a 6 bucket recirculating DWC with a 50 gallon reservoir and an 18 gallon controller.
Everything is run in a Hydrohut Original.

-Medium is Hydroton
-Temps run 82.5-87.7
-Water temps run 70-81 (I have a chiller hooked up and am currently calibrating it)
-PH in the reservoir is currently:5.9
-PH in the controller is currently:5.8
-PH in the buckets is currently:5.8
-I WAS running 2x250s and 1x400 watt HPS' - I've turned off both 250s about 3 hours ago to try and cut temps a bit.. and also to check if it's a light intensity problem.
-The lights are run through a snake through a 465 dayton blower and out the window but still having temp issues
-Advanced Nutes currently in the system:
~32ml Micro
~32ml Bloom
~32ml Grow
~65ml B52
~5ml Barricade

I'll get pics posted in a few, but I have 5/6 pots with plants.
4 of those plants are lavender which are heavier in Indica (80% Indica / 20% Sativa)
and 1 which is some excellent bag seed.

Rundown -
I just put them into the tent two days ago with full lighting. They were taking off just fine with the 400 watt and then I installed the 250s for later and decided to run it.
Today I noticed a few yellow blotched (not apparent AT ALL, I had to sit and stare for a few to notice them.. they might be from me misting the plants with the lights so close)
The plants are working on their second real set of leaves. The leaves also look rubbery and are twisting a little bit. At first I thought growth was stunted, but now I'm not so sure because the leaves tilted towards the 400 watt pretty damned fast.

I've been hand watering them/misting them 3x a day because I'm afraid they'll dehydrate with the 80s temps. I mist them with the water in my reservoir and water them with the same.

I'm thinking..

a) I overwatered. Bad me.
b) They aren't enjoying the 1/4 batch of nutes.
c) The high temps are raping them.
d) The nutes aren't enough for them and it's a deficiency.

I'm running the nute schedule I pulled from BlazeOneUp on one of his threads.
The main difference, is even though I'm running his first week schedule for clones/seedlings, I'm running it a quarter strength.

Thanks! :joint:

They are little and need some time for root development.

Thanks for the speedy reply Blackvelvet :D

So are you saying I need to back off on the nutes completely and wait until they drop into the bucket? Or are you saying that the lights were causing the issue?
Should I just water with regular PHed water?

I've gotten the temps down to around 80 just running the single 400 watt HPS. I guess I'll just mist them with PHed water tonight without any nutes and see how they look tomorrow.

The leaves feel a little dry as well.

Thanks.

What are your PPM's.... misting with lights close and ON, especaiily seedlings, will cause yellow spoting.. the twisting of the tops sounds like fert probs. Whats your experince with AN??

GOod luck

Peace

It's my first grow using AN, I'm still working on getting things dialed in.
Not having much luck though.. I even read through 3 hours worth of threads the other day on the subject :/

Anyway, my ppms are currently 414.

Help?

Thanks.

-Still twisting.

Wow your PPM is prby where I would want it...

Let me make a comment here.... I have grown my own meds for longer than I will admit to anyone, and after a very successful usage of Canna, and GH, I tried AN... my results were mixed.... I lost about 10% of a hydro crop... some strains grew much larger buds than without AN... others did not do nearly as well.... Without a doubt, over at AN's forum it is pretty much agreed that if you use the nute calc rec.. u stand a 50/50 chance of it working....
I have found there products SEPERATE form hard particles and go no good... but thats been my RECENT experience...

The thing about your situation is.... your just using the 3 part the b-52 and barricade.... I would knock out the b-52 all together, its not needed and apparently not working.... just use the 3 parts and the barricade IF you need to RAISE your PH otherwise I wouldn't even use it....YET>... wait till the plants recover and start growing then add in a new product each wk...

GOOD LUCK!

Peace

Thanks a ton, berger.

I feel like I've done nothing but filling the system with 50 gallons and then dumping the 50 gallons, filling, and dumping, filling, and dumping.
It'd be better if I could actually get my nutes and PH to work for me.

Anyway, things were mid 6 as far as ph flux went last night and I added 5ml of PH down.. now everything is 4.6 so I need to change it out anyway.

I'm really feeling quite a bit frustrated right now.

I guess I'll just use the 3 part aside from any additives right now and take your advice berger..

My problem is I was running the nutes at a quarter strength from the regimen I was using..

How can I make sure I'm not adding too many nutrients?

Can I hand water before turning on the controller pump or something?

Thanks :/

Let me smoke a bowl and I'll post some pics.

Edit- I just checked Advanced Nutrient's calculator for the hell of it, they recommend I run 162.8 of each of Grow/Micro/Bloom, 0 B-52, and 18.93 Barricade.. I may have overdone it on those two. :badday:
I'll just add the 3 part I WAS using and see how they look in a day.

(this edit doesn't mean "don't respond" as I'll soak up any and all useful information I can!)

Here are a few pics as promised.

I'm about to change the 50 gallons of water and use just the 3 part at about double what I had it at. (double what I had is still only half of what I plan on getting to)

I'd also like to ask if I should be giving them just fresh water until they show signs of deficiency.

By fresh water I mean RO water PHed correctly.

Watered them last night with PHed 5.3-5.5 water while mixing nutrients.
The nute mix was 6.5 when I measured it an hour ago.
I'm going to measure it again and add 2.5ml of PH down if it's around the same still.

They look about the same as yesterday.

 Hi All ! Heat issues.....that Dayton 465 is a blower, and does a lousy job
of suction, the hut needs and 6" fan that has both intake and outake suction....

 Peace!!
