Heat stress? need info PLEASE!!

last night i went out of town, i called my roommate to have him turn on my vent fan in my growroom. i had a small space heater in my growroom, as it had been cold lately, so instead of turning on my vent fan he turns on my space heater, and i get home this morning, and the plants have been sitting in pretty good heat for about 15 hours. on all three plants all the leaves are completely drooping, they're 4 weeks into flowering, and were very healthy before this. will this just stop after a few hours? is there anything i can do? someone please give me some info i'm really fuckin worried.

i'd like to add, their color is still good, besides the drooping everything looks good, but seriously all the leaves are completely drooping down, and are really soft to the touch. its like the plants went limp

Coolem down / water well and they'll come back. You may lose some leaves and growth may be stunted but ya won't lose em.

Hi there Soulman!

So the lamps in the grow room were on as your room mate turned on the extra heater? In other words, this happened during the lights on cycle? Just asking cause during night time the plants rest and "wilt" normally. You probably know this, but just wanted to be sure.

I assume that it was during the lights on cycle, and they just got exhausted cause of the extra heat. Make sure they have not suck up all the moisture from the soil/coco/what ever you're growing on, and just cool the grow room down to normal temps. If it was only for a brief period, I'm sure they'll be fine. You can spray them with water for some first aid, but give them couple of hours or one day, and they should be like it never happened

This is assuming it was not like in a oven in there, heh..

yea i called him to turn the vent fan on right at the beginning of my light cycle, right now the lights are on 6pm-6am, so he turned it on at like 630, and it was on until i got home at like 1030 this morning. i just watered them, and i have my oscilating fan going right now, and my vent fan. the leaves not only are drooping, but are curling kinda, im really worried, but i know the time will be the true test

There is a long term solution to prevent this in the future though...............

Put the ventilation on the lighting timer.............AND set the heater thermostat so it cannot go above a certain temperature. And even better......A photo cell that will prevent the heater from running during lights on.

Automate everything possible.

Overwatering can have a simular appearance, caused not so much from moisture but lack of oxagen at the roots..\

Getting started can be bumpy - but it usually gets better.

alright i watered them, and the temp cooled down, its only been a few hours but they're already looking a lot better, the leaves are starting to uncurl and stretching out. thanks guys for the input, i'll post again when the light goes on at 6, and i can get a better look

so they were short of water. as well as heatstress. :joint:

alright a couple days later, a lot of the fan leaves have turned lighter green and are yellowing around the edges. before this happened, there was slight yellowing on the bottom fan leaves, completely normal i know. however now fan leaves running all the way up the tree are looking very unhealthy. i'll try to barrow a camera and get some pictures up but, until then, am i gonna be okay? what can i do
