so, i was informed that the top buds of my plants are probably not budding well because the 1000 watt hps is too close and causing heat stress on the plant (the bottom buds are swelling and throwing out new pistils all the time). im in week 6 of flowering. I used a fluke infrared thermometer and the top buds/leaves read at 31-32 degrees celcius 88-89 degrees fahreheit.
i was wondering if it's too late for the buds to still swell up. did i prolong the flowering period or did i just miss it?
i moved my light from 18" above the canopy to 24". my room temperature stays at around 25 degrees celcius so the problem would be localized to the tops of the plant.
it's an indica dominant strain and all pictures i see of similar looking plants have a nice big top bud right now, whereas mine has stayed small and all the calyxes are closed. few red hairs but still a lot of closed ones, whereas the bottom buds are all pushing out new white hairs. it seems like the bottom half of my plant is good while the top half isn't
any info would help.
