heat problems

Im growing in a 6.6x6.6 tent and my scrubber is a 6 inch 420 cfm. I have a active intake aswell. Im running one 600 watter and my temps are still way too high. Whats the problem?

Temps are 90 farenheit 32.5 celcius

Where does you tent sit? What are the temps outside the tent? Are you exhausting the tent or just the lamp?-granger

To outside ?

Good supply of fressh cold air to go in ?

Is the ballast out of the room, downstream of the tent ? Etc. Etc. Try every trick possible to reduce even 1 degree, it can make the difference

Think about running a 400 in the hottest months, or get a dimmable ballast.

Are you using an extractor hood, drawing the air from the hottest place ?

Heat is a problem in the first month of flower because it makes some strains stretch like mad, in the second month it cooks the terpenes and gives you a lower quality bud

here's how I keep my area 2 degrees BELOW ambient in summer


Cool tubes
Air in from a dark room in the north facing side of my house
Air out - up the chimney
ALL ducting is the big ass thermo insulated stuff
Tent room in kept in shade day and night - no direct sunlight through windows
Oversized box fans on a controller - mine is big enough for a warehouse (seriously) but I run 2 little tents off it at very low power.. this gives me plenty of tweak room
Light on at night, but when I use both area, I flip flop them (one is on in day, one is on at night, not both together) - when vegging - lights off at hottest part of the day...

then when I got nothing left to tweak.. I got a coolboy...(Air Cooler, Coolboy Ice-25)

edit - forgot to add I also keep the ballasts in a different room on the end of 10 meter cables...

Hi Granger... hehe that would be cool....

no, I mean this thing... was 50 euros...essentially its just a regular air blower, but you put cold water and ice packs in the reservoir* and it cools a bit more than just blowing

*the blue bit at the bottom
