Hey everyone. Im currently working with a 7.5' x 11' space with 4 600's. There is 2 600's over 2 2x8 trays. 2 lights are water cooled and two are aircooled (the water cooled ones run a little bit cooler)I originally had a 7000 btu ac hooked up to a C.A.P. controller with a Co2 gen and a 6" 650 cfm fan used for exaust/humidity. The first round I ran all 4 lights in a straight line w/ no co2 and it was fine, but it was winter. Now as its gotten hotter even w/ 2 lights on it gets too damn hot and my girls are getting scorched. It gets so hot that the co2 doesnt even run the last half of the day because the ac and exaust are on so much trying to bring the temps down. The exaust in on the ceiling so I would think that the exaust fan wouldnt be sucking out cold air instead of hot would it? Anyhow, I said screw it and went out and bought a 13000 btu bad mamma jamma ac and the temps are the fawking same!!!!!! And Thats only with two lights. I unplugged the C02 generator and that doesnt didnt do much at all, and because of the power the new AC uses my controller cant even take it. The breaker flips on it after like 10 minutes. Is there anything that anyone can think of to help me before I go start a new spot? Im going going crazy over here and it already worked my last harvest. Quality was good, but yield was shiiit!. By the way, the temps are getting to about 95 in the middle of the day when the co2 is on, so I just turn it off and have to open doors and it goes down.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

How about running your lights at night when its cooler? My lights stay off during the day and it does help.

Maybe one of our resident geniuses can help you with an external switch that the CAP actuates for AC operation thus taking the heavy load off of the CAP itself.

I had the same problem, a buddy set that up for me several years ago and it works perfectly. As I recall, he bought the items at Radio Shack.

Sounds like the exhaust is sucking out the cool air. If you're exhausting for odor control, maybe you can partition off one side of the room and blow to the other side with intake from that same partition.

Maybe you should just run the water-cooled lights. Is the cooling res/water-chiller in the same room? Perhaps you could get a bigger fan for the hoods.

when you aircool your lights is the air bieng sucked from the room or from outside?and is your fan pushing air through the lights orsucking away from them?

Thanks for the responses everyone. The air running through the lights is seperate from the room when they are running, but I only have 1 side going right now because I run a perpetual harvest so I cut em down every month and even with only 2 its still too hot!!!!There is 2 600's over each side with different rez's for each table. I think Even Steven is correct. The cool air is getting sucked right out I think. Another problem is that after a few hours all the hot air that is exhausted piles up an ends up getting sucked right back into the room. I think I need to exaust the room that the hot air gets exhausted into better. I started running the lights at night, but its still hot during the day and I heard from a friend that he had that problem before, where the lights on time was cooler then dark and his plants never flowered. Has anyone else ever heard this? On top of all this almost everything in my 30 site ez cloner got fried today. Of coarse it happends right when I get a bunch of new flavors. They looked great 2 days ago and then today about 75% of them or more just shriveled up. Im by the beach and it was still in the mid 90's today. I want to get the other side going and I have some vegging, but I have to fix this first. Im almost about to just run 1 600 on each side until I can get some help with some serious remodeling to ventilate better. Possibly one of those twirling exhaust roof-top things.
