Does anyone remember the hawaiians from the late 90s in Amsterdam,,??

there was a 19week hawaiian haze clone back then and another other hawaiian sativa that i can't quite remember the name of ,,,both were on dutch flowers coffee shop menu late 90s, its an old tropical flavour,,it's really distinct,,it was like a glazed sativa,,,it's a particular style,,people who know will know

Soma used to have clones of the old hawaiian haze, but nobody has grown this long sativa shit in so long it seems to be dying in Amsterdam with all the old growers vanishing,,,

from a distance the hawaiian sativa looked too airy to be any good,,but close up each calax was massive and glazed to the point of being made of glass,,,the flavour was intense and unique!!,,,similar to how kali mist was different from the first haze crosses,,

I'm frigging desperate to get that old duch flowers style flavour back,,i need that distinct tropical Hawaiian flavour back in my life,,,

Any thoughts guys?

Vermontman is still working with that Hawaiian Sativa. Check out Green Mountain Seeds threads in the Ace forum.

Hawaiian Sativa strain that was African in origin - circa 1984 - Oahu, windward side, short season stunter's. During the long season, this strain was easily capable of growing over 20 feet tall, with main stems that had the circumference of trees. It was a strain that had acclimatized itself to its environment, having been exclusively grown by a very select few, for many years.

I use to have some S1's, but no longer have them...........:bashhead: :cuss:

It tasted like tangerines and berries.

Abraxas hawaiian haze was ma favourite in the Dam goingrey sadly cannae find seeds anywhere. Although, looking at the menu an Dutch seed market generally, ah picked up nirvana hawaiian maui wowie coz am pretty sure that's what they'd be sellin me anyway, just in a different pack.

Ah also got 6 BOEL hawaiian off bleepboop though they might be touched wi some Jamaican pineapple skunk so ah'll be selectin for thin leaf an tropical style growth. They're on the list next tae be f2d/inbred then they'll be crossed wi the nirvana line at some point. Am lookin for the rare extreme sativa pheno in the nirvana stuff so that may take some time an an f2 run tae hunt down.

Hopefully that'll give me somethin close tae the abraxas hawaiian but more authentic. Its a project that's been on ma mind for a while.

I grew some Hawaiian Sativa in the late 90’s. I used to use a grow shop back then called Sunlight Systems or something like that who had a small warehouse on the local trading estate. As well as the grow equipment I could get seeds. They were in a small baggy with 10 regs and just the variety written on. No flower times or anything. Every female I had out of that was fantastic. They were all really long flower times as I remember and glassy resin encrusted flowers. Really potent too.
after reading this I’ve looked up green mountain seeds Hawaiian crosses.

I remember the federation hawaiians back in the day but didn't buy any,,,stupid me

What seeds do you guys suggest trying to aquire in order to recreate the dutch flowers flavour,,,I was looking at the pineapple banana bud from ace,,I was also looking at jordan of the islands hawaiian blueberry, nirvanas Malawi hawaiian,,,im just so doubtful that the breeders have managed to maintain the flavour profile,,,ace seeds dubi are possibly the only ones who I believe might have maintained it properly,,

I'm a lil stumped at to what I actually need to get the profile i remember so fondly,,,do you guys know thd profile im talking about?

Both Squids and KALA'S look like what I'm looking for but I can't be sure without seeing buds close up,,,the dutch flowers stuff was almost purple,,looked like a near pure sativa ,, real floral flavour and like I said a diped glassy glaze look to it

I thought Abraxas had closed down??,,,il definitely be going to get that hawaiian haze soon as I get chance to pop over,,

englishrick. I have grown blue Hawaiian from JOTI for the past couple of years. I can't speak to the late 90's product that you mention. These plants mostly smell as described. Some are more on the lemony side. My favourite pheno's have a never ending sweet and sour pineapple mango, in general tropical smell. These are my choice for resins and edibles. I make tincture with straight flower, it tastes great on its own. However it did get pounded by mold this year. They don't list it as an outdoor strain so I am not surprised. I personally am going to try VM/ Ace Mountain Gold to see if it has better mold tolerance. My lineup is all Ace this year.

The one on the right below is my preferred one, really good head and a slight body high, functional still. The one on the left was more lemony and had a really intense sativa high, like drinking coffee, no body high. The chopped one in the front and the tall one in the back are different strains.

I never grew a strain from Federation that wasn't amazing. It is a shame they no longer exist. Next Gen is one half of the operation but I haven't grown anything from them.

Has Anyone tried Kona Kauai or Kona Maui from Swarleyseeds?

Kona Kauai = (Kona Gold (Hawaiian IBL) X Kauai Electric (Hawaiian IBL)
Kona Maui = Kona Gold x Maui Wowie

That's a good tip on the new caledonia,,il buy some at some point in the near future,,,my next seed purchase is going to be a few of Sam's stuff from breeders retail and then everything else will be devoted to finding the old hawian tropical floral profile,,

Do you guys think the pineapple banana bud might bring the flavour profile in looking for?,,,its a realy floral tropical terp profile,,i got a hint of it from hawian snow back in the early 2000s but it wasn't 100%,,still beautiful tho, just not hawaiian enough to call it a grail
