Hash making problems (bubblebag method)

G

Guest

Okay so here's the info on my latest hash making venture:

1. Used fine (resin covered) trim from 2 bogglegum plants
2. I use the 8 bag 1 gallon kit
3. It is currently 87 degrees where i live
4. Followed directions completely and mixed with electric blender for 15 minutes.

So here my problem, first of all, the first few bags went as normal same with the next few,(a little greener than expected). But when the 2nd last and last bags came all i found was green stuff. Am i over mixing?

Secondly, after pressing my hash in the pressing screen the hash was surprisingly hard to get off the screen then when i tried to break it up it just stuck to my fingers. I have done this before and this never happened

Can someone please give me some advice to what may be causing these problems?

Thanks

Okay, so i figured out I really over mixed. But i don't understand the excessive stickiness. Could it be too hot here, could i have pressed too hard?

All i can suggest is use a wooden spoon. The best bubble i've made has always been using a wooden spoon. I also use cardboard instead of the screens because i had a hard time getting it off the screens also. After the fact i heard you could stick the screen with pressed bubble in the freezer and it's easier to get off. Was this fresh frozen trim or dried frozen trim?

Its easy to over do it and get colra shit, sticky is good.
Have you tryed using a water spray to help gather and unclog the mesh and gather it in the center.
A misting bottle should help keep your bubble wet therefore easier to collect.
I use frozen trim, and freeze it for about 2hours before the run also ive found that larger pices of ice to be more effective.
Remember you just want to agitate the mixture.Hope this helps! :joint:

In the instruction for the bubble bags it says to break up the hash into a fine dust after pressed in the 25 u pressing screen. My problem is that my hash was soo sticky that i was unable to break it up until a day or so later. Is this normal?

:yeahthats No, sticky is usually a good sign. And yes, that is normal for some strains of weed. Just enjoy your bounty, and don't worry if it is normal. You'll do a lot of runs over your lifetime, and each one will be slightly different - even with the same process. That's OK. :woohoo:

So grab a pipe, sit down, and enjoy your labors. :smoke:

Its best to place it in the freezer overnight. This hardens your hasj but more importantly,it brings the moisture to the surface to be wiped off.
Its normal and a good sign that its sticky after a night in the freezer (in cardboard)youll be able to handle it but it gets sticky again with the heat of your hands.
Its better to put it in cardboard while in the freezer.Enjoi! :joint:

15 min is pretty long :chin:

Try 5 min with a mixer... and see the difference in color !

Then put the leafs in the freezer again for a second run (5 to 8min!)

Putting the hash in the freezer, before you sample it, is excellent advice. Try sampling it and you'll get to smoke a lot of water. And when water is heated it expands and blows little sparks on your chest hairs. Friggin OWCH.....

Try 5 minutes with a wooden spoon - gently. That's the secret of the masters. Ask them. :joint:

After the hasj is made its a good way to ensure it dont go moldy.I always put it straight in the freezer as soon as its scooped out of the bags.
The moisture comes to the top simply to be wiped way.
