Has anyone had experience with this tincture?

I've made concentrated EtOH tinctures for patients, but not drinking liquor.

One of our students has his own compound refluxing still and makes his own 190 proof Etoh from corn and wheat germ, besides the sugar and yeast, giving it a rather distinctive flavor.

He did an extraction using his squeezings, and saved the wash for his liquor cabinet, after cutting it to about 120 proof. I sampled it, and it had a nice flavor, after you got by the 120 proof burn.

Ostensibly you want the mixture decarboxylated, which is hard to do when you can't get it any hotter than the ~172F boiling point of EtOH. For that reason, best effect would be to extract the oil, decarboxylate it, and then mix it back with the alcohol.

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this? Thanks for any help.

I made some of this soon after I saw your post. Thanks.

Just had my first sample a bit over an hour ago and it's already started working.

I used 3/4 cup (175 ML) of Bacardi 151,
15 grams of ok/average bud
Did the decarboxylate process the way it said.
Stored and shaken for 2 days.

I ended up with 150 ml of finished product. Considering I used 15 grams of cannabis to begin with even I can work out a gram of pot equals 10ml. I dosed with 4 ml and really feel quite high just as if I'd smoked it. So far I'm really enjoying this. I'll see how this goes and maybe experiment with slightly higher dose tomorrow.

I have made tincture with a similar process, using decarboxylated cannabis, which definitely gives results. Everything I have made for a while now though has been made with decarboxylated cannabis oil. It is much easier to properly decarboxylate oil, and also easier to precisely control dosages.
