Has anyone actually tried to flip back to 18h for the last 7-14 days of flower? (don't beat me up)

Bro science time!

Yesterday I was listening to this podcast and this part caught my attention, at the 16:00 mark.

He's talking about how he likes to go back to 18/6h for the last 1-2 weeks of flower. He says it helps the plants bulk up a little more. This is the first time I hear anyone mention this, in my years growing. I'm just curious about it really.

I expect most replies will say it's stupid and wrong, and I am skeptical as well. In most threads I have seen online, people seem to get very emotional over this matter for some reason :ROFLMAO: Although I didn't find anyone else who had tried it.

So I would be most interested in experiences from growers who actually tried it. I would have dismissed the idea quickly if I had just read it online, but having listened to quite a few episodes of this podcast, he generally knows what he's talking about and seems like a nice and honest guy. Never heard him say anything that I thought was bullshit or weird, other than this. Then again I heard him say he is a big fan of Brendan Schaub's comedy so maybe his judgement could be somewhat compromised

So, wader we dune hair?

A few times i took a fully seeded plant out of the flowering room and let the seeds finish to ripen a couple more weeks in the veg tent.

Buds seemed to loosen.
Sorry, what do you mean exactly by loosen? Did it make them fluffier? Did you smoke the seeded bud, or made extractions or something? If so, did you notice anything special in the effect or taste?

Yes, fluffier. The stalk between individual nuggets will grow a little and make the buds airy. Think early reveg signs.

Once the seeds are collected, I dump all plant matter in the hash pile with other plants so i cant speak as to effects in particular.

The idea is its done making trichomes and flowering and so right before harvest you can push of the ever lovin shit out of the plant to force terp production...cuz of glucose>canabinoids....it dont do the good stuff we want in the dark, it needs light...but too much too long and you get what mithridate spoke of...revegging hormones take dominance and the plant is subpar from then on
