Harvesting male flowers

Out of ten "Satori" beans(Mandala) I got two runts, 4 females and 4 males.

The males are very beautiful and interresting looking plants, surprisingly stinky and even sticky for males.

I have more than a decade of growing experience under my belt, and I know that you can get an effect from smoking/ingesting male flowers.

A few years ago, I harvested a very nice male Afghani(just before the bananas opend), and believe it or not, the smoke was very psychoactive.

So my question is not wheter you can get high from smoking male flowers.

I would like to know when YOU prefer to harvest your males.

I am not into collecting pollen this time, and according to my experience the best time to harvest is shortly before the pollen sacks open.

I harvest the bananas along with the surrounding fresh little leaves.

I will add them to my Cannabis tincture(alcohol in this case), or just smoke them.

Might sound funny for some people, but it really works.

What about you personal experience consuming male flowers?

Well, I feel the need to admit that the 2 runts were definitely my fault.

They grew in much too small pots(one of them was a female btw.)

I decided to kill them, because they were maybe 6 times smaller than the rest of the plants and looked like they could attract all kinds of pests, weak as they were.

So far I can say that I´m pretty satisfied with those Mandala gentics.

Nice value for such a fair price.

No pest problems so far(let´s knock on wood!)

yes, in the old days the growers would smoke the male flowers first because they were ready first. Kind of harsh but yes you can get high from them.

I remember when I was about 14 years old I grew a pot plant in my backyard from seeds that a friend gave me. All I did was water it - plain and simple, and it grew to about 8 feet tall! I didn't know anything about pot then, so I chopped it down when it looked big enough, dried the leaves and pollen sacks (yup, it was a boy - I didn't know at the time) and me and my friends smoked it all. Back then it got me pretty high and I was content with the grow I had accomplished. I thought I had the most huge batch of pot and I felt like a king lol! But now I doubt a male could get me as stoned as it could then, but for a male it did the trick. Those were the days.

I´ve been smoking weed daily for a very long time, but a few days ago I decided it was time for a break once again.

Maybe you should do the same.

Two weeks will be enough to bring your tolerance down, a few few months will be even better.

Don´t be afraid: Marihuana is NOT addictive.

If you read the Marijuana Grower's Guide, you'll see the tables showing THC concentrations of plants from different countries. It is entirely possible for a male plant to be more potent than a female of the same strain. Interesting, huh?

Despite the two runts(my fault, as I allready mentioned), they turned out pretty good so far.

Some variation among the 4 remaining girls, but nice plants.

They are not very fast flowering ladies, but we will see what the future brings.

They look like a mixture of Sativa and Afghani.

Dark, rather broad and fat leaves, but now that they are starting to flower seriously, they get more of a Sativa type shape.

If you read the Marijuana Grower's Guide, you'll see the tables showing THC concentrations of plants from different countries. It is entirely possible for a male plant to be more potent than a female of the same strain. Interesting, huh?

I don´t care that much about THC levels, as they are not necessarily an indicator for potency and quality of the turn.

But I can imagine that under certain circumstances a male pheno could be more potent than it´s female sister.

Quit smoking for a couple weeks!Quit scarin me man.Seriously,I'm 46 and was a heavy drinker for 25 years and gave that up,not a single beer in close to 3 years now.I just never had the desire to quit smoking,not even a little.Especially now since in the last 5 years the erb has been so good and all this shit is just sooooo good tanks again OG

Congratulations that you finally made it.

I´ve been a heavy drinker for over ten years, and the alcohol fucked up my liver and my social life, so I know what you are talking about.

Man, I´m sitting in a glasshouse, so I shouldn´t throw any stones, as I cut down my alcohol consumption to a minimum but am not totally sober jet.

Damn, in this moment I´m sipping on a beer,- shame on me...

I've had a couple of male plants and live by a waste not, want not mindset when it comes to this fine plant.

Both smoking straight dried parts of the plant, and making an isoproyl alcohol extraction have been uccessful for me. I would reccomend the isohash approach as it eliminates the relatively harsh plant marerial, and will indeed put your head in a good place.. a lot more so than straight plant matter.
