Harvest time

So I finally jarred the last of my outdoor harvest today. 2 large plants grown from seed given to me by a friend, unknown if the strain has a name. It's quite sativa dominant and I had trouble keeping the plants topped so they wouldn't be visible over an 8' fence.

One of the plants was purple; one was green. While growing the purple one had a fruity, Kool-aid sort of smeel; the green one smelled like pepperoni. I pollinated the lower branches of each one with a male that grew from the same batch of seeds; that plant was huge, 8 feet tall after only 60 days. I used sunlight, water, and Miracle Gro bloom booster in the middle of flowering; nothing else. Not organic because of the Miracle-Gro, but quite pure enough for me.

Harvested, hung upside down for a week, and cured in jars using Rumpleforeskin's method detailed here on these forums, which I recommend highly as it is predictable, consistent, and yields good results. I didn't unjar to weigh them but if you assume that similar jars have similar tare weights, yield was 1.5 lbs of prime trimmed bud, a jarful of questionable looking stuff, about a half pound of mold and caterpillar infested buds, and a couple pounds of skuff. The stuff that's not in jars is destined for the hash bag.

I am using a Silver Surfer with this stuff pretty regularly. I love the SSV - beautiful, functional, easy to use, very easy on the lungs. A tiny amount is mind expanding. Colors look more vivid, anxiety is reduced, smells and flavors are stronger, I notice details more, I drive slower - not below the speed limit - and I am easier to deal with. I am a better person now than when I started this project.

Here are some braggin' photos:

So, pretty much mission accomplished. Much thanks and love to everyone on this site who helped, including posters from years ago whose threads I read but never commented on.

Thanks Dr Dee! There are a few pics of the ladies in my forum album, as well as the one man plant I used to pollinate the lower branches.

If any one has any questions please feel free to ask.

It is pretty sticky stuff! I am still trying to figure out this curing thing. I believe the stuff actually gets more potent as it cures, although I can't really understand how that would happen. The stuff that has been in jars for 10 weeks blows my doors off; the stuff that just came out of the drying bag barely gives a buzz, even though it sat on the plant for an extra 2 months of flowering.

Still, others have posted that the same thing happens to their bud. I don't quite get why but it's fine with me.
