Hi guys,

I see alot of people up north (norcal/gold country/oregon) are going to be hit with a good amount of rainfall these next 5 or so days, 3+inches.. and worst of all 80+ mph winds..

I just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone wanted to chime in on how there preparing for this low weather front thats gonna be around for a few days during big bud prime harvest season...

Dealing with mold, supporting big buds with trellis netting, all that good stuff...

I'm down south of the bay area/santa cruz mountains area, and we shouldn't be seeing more than an inch or two at most scattered over 5 days off and on, so im not as worried as most of the mountain growers, personally i re-wrapped my heaviest plants with nylon trellis netting, my plants are manageable ~7' so i can thread the buds through and zip tie the netting to the cage support structure.

i lke trellis instead of using the green garden tape to tie up every branch, some outliers do get tied up though

I thought about spraying a foliar of OGBIOWAR foliar pack in preparation for the rain, anyone do that? inoculate the buds before the rain storm comes, even though its this close to harvest, you gotta be REAL picky on what u choose to spray if anything this late.

Got home from work this afternoon, rain stopped about 3 or so. My biggest girls were falling over, so I tied them up with bamboo stakes and green tape. Not a good thing, but far from a disaster.

Shake, shake, shake those colas! The sun will be back Monday or Tuesday...until then, I'm gonna let things ride and keep a close eye out.

Hey eastbay, do you just net your plants then let the plant create opposing force to support itself? That's what it looks like in the pictures.

I'm out in the CO , we had a weird season here, starting flowering early mid July, then monsoon season lasted longer than usual, and had two frost warning days last week that wreaked havoc on many plants. Three quarters of my garden has been chopped, maybe two weeks left before everything is down and hanging.

But like hemphrey said, ride out the rain and shake them colas!!! It's not the rain that's the problem it's the heat that might follow it, low temps and steady wind are your best friend after a wicked rain storm.

only benefit of the rain is that it brought my dry room from ~40 RH to 60 RH so a silver lining i guess..

I;m going to go out and check out the situation tomorrow afternoon and chop some of the larger colas that have already had spots of mold cut out...

best of luck everyone...

And yeah, i use an inner and outer cage with a couple layers of trellis netting to hold it all in place, the netting is also zip tied to the cage and bamboo stakes, fairly sturdy set up..

I cut all my girls down this week. All but three finished. Three were a week out and got the early chop. I have a mini greenhouse that is nice that I hope doesn't mold up.

Yeah plants are looking sad in my yard. Luckily the majority of plants have been harvested. I'll try and take pictures.
