I'm not one for the holidays and I'm not even doing anything special tomorrow, but I'm still thankful for what I have in life. Enjoy your day everybody :tiphat:

I wish I had a pound of lean cuisine white gobbler meat.

I can eat it by itself with just a light sprinkling of salt and pepper.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Going to have Mom cooking so I'm in for a treat! My wife is a great cook, but with all due respect, nothing is like Mom's cooking. Looking forward to seeing the family.

Hope you all have a great day!

One of the best times of year for me except the flu or cold I always seem to get around this time. No turkeys killed either. Holiday roast also known as soy turkey. Really is not that bad.

Pumpkin pie is kinda lame though. I always get a pecan pie so there is something tasty. Cranberry relish is ahhhh?

Happy thanksgiving to all of you celebrating!

Have to admit I have serious food envy at this time and mouth-watering issues remembering the few thanksgiving dinners I had the pleasure to get invited to in the 90s while in the U.S.

Turkey with moshed potatos and gravy yum yum yum! Turkey topped with the cranberry sauce was amazing too.

Yesum, I even liked the pumpkin pie, thought it was awesome :D

Happy T-day you all.

I believe this is going to be my 1st T-day ever spent alone, plans fell apart with that storm we just had, the hosts house was w/o power for 53 hours. Tree clearing, snow plowing, even the task of digging cars out of 12+ inches is very tough on guys my age and up. My buddy's place is on the big lake up here, on a point & facing west, if the area is hit with 12" of snow his westerly open exposure will drop & drift up over 18 inches.

Anyway instead of imposing on any other friends and trying to insert myself as a rather last minute guest I decided to rough it alone. I'm gonna make a T-day dinner poutine style, I found the picture below which was intriguing in and of itself, I just didn't figure that I'd have the chance to try it so quickly.

I'm replacing the skin on taters with sweet potato fries, leaving out the cheese curds & I'm going with green beans (w/slivered almonds) instead of the peas. I bought a small Jennie-O turkey breast which I'll split & made my stuffing last night; today I'll need to make a packaged gravy, cook the fries and just line the rest of it up for the microwave. I walked into Perkins yesterday and bought a single slice of their apple pie for my dessert today.

With the exception of that apple pie my meal will certainly leave generous leftovers.

I'm old & mostly crippled these days so hours in the kitchen just ain't happening lately. Me & my little Suzi will have our T-day in fine style and comfort as I also enjoy some very fine herbs :smoker: and some hopefully adequate football.

When Suzi sees me approaching the table w/a plate in hand, out comes the sneaky beak.

thnx for posting that link to Alice's Restaurant tt!

I came back here to do the same but had to click on your link first to make sure I wasn't repeating something already posted.

It just ain't Thanksgiving w/o a yearly dose of one of Arlo's finest offerings, you can get anything you want.......

oh yeah, here's to living life on the group 'W' bench :yay:

I'm about to watch the mini series "Saint's and Strangers". I highly recommend it if you have the Nat Geo channel.

"The real story of the first Thanksgiving, showing struggles amongst the Plymouth settlers and the Native Americans."

okay, the beast is sated. Suzi was too hyped up by all of my activity in the kitchen, as easy as my meal really was, it still took hours to prep, Suzi was sitting upright & lickin' her little chops; but as usual, once we were done I held up an empty plate and announced "Okay, no more, all done." and she buried herself in her blanket. She brings a constant smile to my face.......
