Happy Frog and Maxicrop w/ Iron

Hey guys, I went to the local hydro store around me, and the only products that were close to the ICC method were the Happy frog fruit and flower, and instead of maxicrop they had maxicrop w/ iron. I asked the guy about the happy frog, and he said that it is the same as peace of mind, just different packaging, but reading on the ICC method thread it seems that it is kind of different? Anyone have any experience with this? Also would it be okay to use the maxicrop w/ iron or will that urn my plants? Im a first time grower, Onyx and RRF. They just popped and seemed to be doing good so any advice is greatly appreciated guy!

 

[Hydro-Soil]

You'll want to add Perlite and Vermiculite to that Happy Frog. It's a bit heavy by itself... generally use to 'amend' soil and make it better. Good stuff.

hydro, Its not the happy frog fruit and flower soil, its the nutes, I'm using ocean forrest for soil. this is the nutes. and I can't find the picture of the maxicrop, all it says is Maxicrop plus iron, if needed I can give the nutritional values and stuff

It already has some perlite but I like to add more, too. Dunno about the vermiculite. Seems like it would make it heavy, no? But then again, this is ICC related, so I dunno.

I think that it should be good to use, but I wanted to refer to here if anyone has used it, it seems that they have the same NPK values, so they could be just same stuff different packaging, cause I heard that they discontinued the Peace of Mind line, correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm worried to use the Maxicrop plus Iron, could the iron cause some bad things to happen to my plant? If anyone has used the stuff or any information on if it has too much iron, or what iron does to affect the plant. would be great. thanks guys

i think you should be okay. don't take my word for it though. my guess would be the plant will only take up so much iron and then leave the rest in the medium. doubt it would build up too much during the life of your trees

using happy frog here and so far so good.. I was using pro mix soil i have been recycling for the past 3-4 yrs Just cleaning it out really well of old roots letting it sit out over the winter covered but not covered if that makes sense.. then adding my recipe and lettin it sit out.. more.. so its perpetual like a grow would be.. lol.. But the this last lil bit o seedlings i thru in, did not make it they started out great then just dried up.. It is not my recipe cos ive used it for quite some time its def not hot.. I think there were fungus gnats and some other fungi.. So i tossed old soil and now am using happy frog one baby that was sick from other soil i was able to save and 9 days later bada bing bada boom she is better... So to now dial in this happy frog.. hope its easy no more deaths.. peace n puffs sorry for the rant.. I am high!!!

no worries about that ranting, Ive heard that pro-mix can yield great when dialed in, but thats just like everything. But thats just what I wanted to hear about happy frog, good looks man. Now I'm pretty pumped to use it. Gonna be making the first batch of TEA soon, for the seedlings which are about 3 days in now. Also gonna mix it for when I transplant into my air pots! Now just need to worry about that darn maxicrop with iron

Ohh i have throw seedlings right from the paper towels into happy frog and they are fine..Is maxi crop in a round plastic jar with flower like label light blue or purple with black lid? peace n puffs.

i think its blue, I'll have to check the label again. but no black lid. its actually 2 caps, 1 you have to press the sides to get the cap off, then to get it open its one of those push down and turn caps. really wierd for just liquid seaweed haha
