I use 1 tbls for my ocean forest,I'd suggest the same for happy frog too I dont rely on oyster shell to keep ph up in flower.Something even more acidic like promix I'd use 2 tbls per gallon mix.

so if used 2 tbls of lime that would cause it to be a lil drain off ph high right???

How are you checking your runoff PH?If your runoff ph is that high after using a high N fert your tapwater PH must be sky high. How are you checking the ph of liquids?

my tap water is usually round 7.1 but for hte past week or so its been bout 8ish. i even went out and bought a new hanna ph meter just to make sure. after i mix in the ferts i ph the water to 6.5. then i collect the runnoff in a cup and measure it with my ph meter

2 tablespoons per gallon is too much lime. Try half of that at most. You don't need to add cal mag in your water with 2 tablespoons lime in your soil. Cal mag overdose.

Exactly.

He's right I don't know why poeple suggest that much all the time...

What I do is use 3-4 teaspoons (powdered lime) altogether....

Every 2-3 weeks (depending on how much I am feeding them) of flower I sprinkle 1 teaspoon lime on top, until I flush them... do it in incriments, so it doens't slam on your plants, more work but they get it when they need it. I use three gallons... so maybe you can find incriments that best suit your situation.

This of corse only works with powdered lime... if you have granules you'll just have to mix it in with your soil. In which case I suggest 1 tablespoon per gallon... make sure it is really mixed in and spread throughout the soil.

so when i transplant to 4 gallon bags should i use 1 tablespoon??

same mix. but i will be using cha ching/beastie bloomz. last time i was having bad ph swings due to the feeding. i started at .25 tablespoon and went up .25 each time. so i thought there was hardly any lime in the soil so i added the regular t tablespoons like i would regular store bought brand.

all help is appreciated

1 tablespoon per gallon of soil. 4x1=4 tablespoons altogether :D.

ok... you should probably get powdered lime... this way you can sprikle it on top and get it through all the soil.

If your plants are in say.... 1 gallons now, you ONLY WANT TO MIX IN THE AMOUNT MEANT FOR THE NEW SOIL YOUR TRANSPLANTING TOO.

Hence if it is in a one gallon now and your transplanting to 4 gallons, use three table spoons... this is why I would use powder you really can go back and mix your original soil...
