July 4th along with Veterans Day and Thanksgiving are truly the best holidays for me. A time not only to celebrate but also to reflect on the sacrifices made by others for this wonderful country of ours. As I think back on the events of the last year I am both encouraged and saddened.
Encouraged by the movement towards liberalization of laws regarding MMJ brought about by the hard work of dedicated people throughout the country and I thank them for that dedication.
Saddened by the knowledge that so many others,who also celebrate these days,work so hard to deny the liberty to self medicate using MJ. These people who consider themselves to be as American as you or I fight to deny the liberty which many of us so desperately need. I used to get angry at them for that but as our movement gains more momentum I am encouraged and substitute my anger with hope. Hope that one day soon they will be overtaken by the facts and come to the realization that they have been wrong. It won't happen as soon as many of us would like or need (sadly),but the tide is surely changing.
So on this Independence day I wish all my brethern happiness and strenght to keep up the fight for independence.

After being knee deep in BS on a previous July 4th while enlisted, I take a second to give props to all my bro's and sisters in green fighting the good fight away from home. To all my Vets-at the bbq, there is always a plate with your name on it, always the best part of the tri-tip on the grill for ya...

Hello all,

Last night at a fireworks display in a neighboring town I was suddenly thrust into some observations.

First made me think about the real bombs birstin in the air and the brothers and sisters that would rather be elsewhere other then a combat zone. I then began to think about the brothers and sisters that while not actually in the CZ anymore physically but still fighting the war in thier minds.

I then thought about the soldiers that when they look at a fireworks display do they see the beauty of principles it is based or the horror of war it represents.

Then I was forced to think about those who wish for the things that I as an American take for granted.

I thought how the Iran people stood up to have their voices heard only to be stiffled and subjugated.

Same with the Chinese20 years ago.


Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans and especially for those that took up arms to give me what I have today.
