Hanna Ph/ec/tds pen help

I have one of those black $130 hanna ph/ec/tds pens. My problem is when i try to take a ph reading the ph just drops for forever. Theres a little clock that comes up at first and instructions said wait until its gone to take a reading, so is the reading when the clock disappears the right reading or should i wait the 10 minutes or whatever until it stops dropping or raising.

First time with a digi meter and instruction just plain suck. thanks

did you calibrate the meter ??
I had one of those meters the clock is just to tell you its still measuring the pH
wait till its gone and that reading is what your pH is at
but try calibrating the pen first, you should use pH 4 and pH 7 callibration fluids to test and calibrate it

the pens can be a pain in the arse....I used vinegar to adjust my PH(.5-1 cap full) and it did the same thing with my pen.....I thought it was going to be a better investment for what I paid for it....sadly the little liquid fish tank testers worked out a whole lot easier....no more keeping pens calibrated just so they don't throw me off a whole two points

i did a one point calibration but didn't seem to really make difference. the clock does disappear but the ph number keeps changing, generally going down after the clock disappears.

if you bought the meter from a local hydro shop take it back and ask them if they will calibrate it for you, when i bought mine duder calibrated mine every month for free. the least he could do seing how much money i spend there lol. the meter you have is the next 1 i'm gettn for coco run currently i have the regular hanna PH meter non water proof and only ready PH. i havent used it in months lol because i know what my water needs with and with out ferts added, another thing i rinsed my meter and shot glass before and after each and every use to obtain the most accurate reading possible

Try doing a search on the model number of your pen. Im pretty sure you will find other people in the same situation as you described.
