Hanging mylar? Advice needed!

Hi all,
My growroom setup is probably fairly unique in that I dont have "walls" to just stick the 2mil Mylar onto. I basically need to "hang" it around my grow space. I have exposed ceiling rafters that I can use but Im at a loss on what to do to get it hung. I dont want it blowing around (fan) and I still need access to the grow space. The dimensions are going to be 5' height x 5' length x 4' width. I bought a long roll of velcro, think this would work eventhough only the top and bottom would be attached?

Any suggestions appreciated. I can provide a pic if it helps...

i had a similer problem to you....what i would sugest...
get some 2x2 from home depot get some "L" brackets and some screws.
make a frame with the 2x2' (its not too sturdy but will hold together nicly.)
then what you do is duct tape the edge of the mylar to the wood and follow it with a staple (staple gun) every 6 or so inches....
best of luck!

Hey,

I've got a suggestion.

Go to HomeDepot or the alike and get some of that foam insulation board. It is usually in the building materials section and comes to 4'x8' sections.

Apply the mylar to the board using whatever.. and then you have "mylar boards" which you can hang from the studs. You can also take them back down for cleaning, ect.

Hope that helps.
peace,

Thanks for the thoughts! The shelf thing wouldnt work because of my setup though. Here's a pic:

*pic removed* (got the mylar hung)

I just need to hang the mylar around the aero setup....that black plastic dropcloth is stealing all my light! lol
Flat, cheap styrofoam planks might work too I guess. Pretty much anything thats flat and long will work.

Never done it myself, but I saw pics from a guy on OG who used to glue his mylar to cardboard. He used big wardrobe boxes that you can buy from Uhaul or other moving companies. He'd just cut the box into big panel, cut the mylar to size, glue it on and smooth it out, and then hang it using wire. The cardboard makes it stif enough not to blow around, but light enough to move easily when you want to work on it.

Sounded like a good plan to me.

I used spray on adheasive for my c24. Using the foam insulation idea, just spray on the adheasive and roll on the mylar. Lightweight, strong, and easily movable.
